Holy f***! Pope Francis drops the F-bomb during mass

well it is Pope Begbie, we should probably thn ourselves he didn't drop the C bomb and headbut an altar boy while he was there

Don't know much about this pope, like what his mother language is etc, it is quite easy to slip into using swear words in second or third languages, harder to know what is acceptable language or not.

Is 'progressive' about gay sex?

It's not just about gay sex. He was asked if gay men should be able to be priests as long as they remained celibate like all priests, but said they shouldn't.

He also used the Italian word frociaggine, which apparently translates as "faggotry"

He allegedly did according to some unnamed sourced. Cowardly gossiping shite.

Aye. It's depressing that he's allegedly a cowardly gossiping shite, but this isn't the first time he's said something stupid.

Still, did hope that Francis could rise above homophobia.

Go on give a good quote of his homophobia. I just told you that and think you can snap?

The made up quote, but hey guys it doesn't matter ok great.

You seem very sure the quote is made up, and you seem not to have commented on the substantive issue of whether Francis will permit gay men to be admitted to the priesthood.

Have a read of this

Pope allegedly used derogatory term for gay people

Pope Francis is reported to have used extremely derogatory language in an incident that could have a profound impact on the way his attitude towards gay people is perceived. When asked at the Italian Bishops’ Conference if gay men should now be allowed to train for the priesthood as long as they remained celibate, Pope Francis said they should not. He is then believed to have continued by saying in Italian that there was, in the Church, already too much of an air of frociaggine. Although it was a meeting that happened behind closed doors, the Pope’s reported comments were first conveyed to the Italian investigative website, Dagospia. Other Italian news agencies have since confirmed the Pope’s words citing numerous sources.

It may still be that his words have been misreported, but the idea that it's a "made up quote" or that reporting it is simply "cowardly gossiping shite" is a bit of a nonsense
