It's often seen as a forgotten part of the war, but it was one of the most brutal. Ashamed to say missed the actual day of commemoration.

Was at the commendation in Monaghan. Big crowd. A tree was planted. Mickey D was up the town earlier but had gone by the time I got there at 6pm.

Caught one of the speeches on the player. Very dignified. Understandably there's still grief there, with the people responsible for the atrocities never being held to account.
