They were Zion Train for 2-3 albums before her. Crispy horns had to be the best thing about ZT though and a large proportion of their stuff after didn't feature her apart from when they played live.
No-ones mentioned the Rhythmites, another festival dub band who were really pretty average.
Zion train are wonderous and hold so many lovely summery memories for me I interviewed them when i was but a little fairy for my fanzine and they were aall charming people Good luck to Molara and the rest of them..see yu in a field somewhere in a few months.....
Thank fuck for that. Her voice was the worst bloody thing about Zion Train. Couldn't hit a note to save her life!
I like a lot of Dreadzone and Zion Train stuff, but they've both released some awful shite. I've got more 'real' dub than you could shake a stick at, and y'know, I like 'em both. Although hearing 'Iron Shirt' on the last Dreadzone album just made me turn 'em off and put Max Romeo on

Difficult to do that when the lineup of whatever free festival you happen to be at consits of Asian Dub Foundation followed by Zion Train....
Obviously Mad Professor or Scientist or Scratch Perry is in a different league/class/galaxy
Early ZT albums include : Natural Wonders of the World In Dub, Great Sporting Moments Of The World In Dub, Passage to Indica, Homegrown Fantasy ... and several others ... <tokes phat one>
Only seen them live twice once at Lewisham T&C fair and Glastonbury, good bounce up and down on a summer afternoon - fast enough to be E friendly reggae, her belting out one love blah blah love etc was not a bad thing, in those circumstances
Can see how it might get on your tits if you wanted to listen to 'proper reggae for propper whiteys', then something slower and heavier might be more aproppiate
