Mayonnaise is fantastic and anyone who doesn't like it needs their head examined. The more, the better - the base of so many decent salad dressings. So it's unhealthy - who wants to live forever anyway?

Shop bought mayonnaise, especially Hellmans, is just absolute rankness.

Home made and it can be just about ok. But it's still a bit bland for me - if I'm going to take on that much fat and unhealthiness I want it to be more than a cloying, creamy food lubricant. It's a bit wetly reassuring and a bit grim at the same time. Bring me the tartness of a chutney or the kick of some decent pepper sauce any way.

I went to make a hot dog yesterday, and opened the fridge. No mayonnaise!

Then my wife reminded me that we'd just bought a big squeeze bottle last week. Crisis averted.

I can not eat rabbit food without a liberal dose of Heinz ...none of yer crappy tastless Hellman's ....give me chemical conglomerate e numbers every time ,extra yellowey colour ...big extra big squeezy bottle .. squeeze ..sniff ....yeah ..!

always one in the fridge..... with an emergency reserve in the old glass format in the back of the cupboard ..well past the sell by date ..but its sealed ...innit ..! fermented extra tastyness possibilities ...if I need to crack it on an emergacy lettuce sandwich

serious crisp dunking too ...salt n vinegar goes well.......

and if there is sliced radishes in the salad ...whoo... big time ... Salad how its meant to be ...none of this Cesar/rocket shit ..

Wow! I thought I was the only one that had mayo on hot dogs! My mum has just brought me back some Dijon Mayonnaise from France, it is heaven in a jar!!
