You're Not Singing Anymore...

On the subject of West Ham meanwhile Sam Allardyce: West Ham boss shocked by boos after Hull win

On the subject in hand though, this is why I've been going along to Brentford in recent seasons, can stand on a terrace, shout your head for the afternoon/evening, have some banter with the players and the away fans, and has bags more atmosphere than Emirates mainly

When people (not fans) pay £50-60 a ticket, they don't come expecting to support their team, they come expecting to be entertained and for their team to win and when they don't, they moan, boo, and show their displeasure. I have heard that the Emirates has had some very noisy matches this season, more so than in recent years maybe, but it doesn't take much for the situation to revert to type sadly.

i think the other end, BIAS stand, is the best end tbh. covered terrace, what's not to love?
I just love the away end for having a really low roof that creates lots of noise (sounds loud from the away end, anyway!) with all the seats on top. It's quite unusual, but it always seems like we make a right racket and is always a top day out. Not that we've had the pleasure so much recently :(

I think any crowd will still get going if their team is scoring plenty in big games (hence Anfield apparently being rocking this season). The difference comes when it's not going so well.

Brentford is bloody brilliant. Why you give the away fans the best end though, I've no idea.

What makes this deeply and unbearably tragic if you have known this ground for as long as I have is that the "away" end used to be the home end - the sadly long-gone Royal Oak which was one of the best home ends anywhere, not joking. Very similar to the North bank at Highbury or the Thamesbank at Craven Cottage. Brilliant acoustics, absolutely awesome back in the day when you could walk round from end to end at will, meant that if you had even crowds of only 5-6000 you might have half of them up the Royal Oak in the second half and the place would just rock.

I am realistic about Allardyce , I am not anti , he is exactly what we needed when he came in and even after the run of shit results I didnt want him to go but its the position he has found himself in before , when he has done the job that he is brought in to do , even after doing it very well , fans start to believe that they deserve better , myself included .

now i come to think of it i doubt its the casual once a year punters like me who boo... my impression booing comes from the hardcore supporters

Do you not think that managers especially the likes of Allardyce reach a peak and then fall off? I think he is coming to the end of his 'era' of being in management at the top level, his heyday was at Bolton. His style of play (and Pullis for that matter) is being surpassed and effectively found out, which is possibly a good thing as more technical players rise in the game.

Good, but probably not like the heydays of thousands of red scarves waving down in the Kop singing YNWA. I hope they win title.

On news now is Allardyce commenting on the West Ham fans booing off the team after they beat Hull 2-1. He is spot on with his comments and it tunes in with my views on this thread..

Yep...Anfield flying flags and singing... great to see... hope they keep it up, football needs this.

Ditto at Selhurst Park this weekend!
I bet it was great result! Hope Palace stay up.

Stadium of Light last night was at times rocking, but the boo boys were out again from Sunderland fans who veered from getting behind their team and then getting on their backs.
