Your Wednesday

Woken by kittens at about 6am. Back to sleep for a bit then up for work. Eat noodles and Hertas, drink tea. Bus to work, one meeting, bit of keyboard bashing, lots of swearing then break for lunch.

Trip to the Indian supermarket with best mate Mogden and work chum. Grasp mountains of goodies and spend some time trying to work out what methi is. Realise it's fenugreek at the till so no time to go back and get some  Go back to work and scoff some of purchased goodies including roasted & salted pistachios, a pot of kheer, a nectarine.

Bash keyboard some more, try to look professional by answering questions concerning my project in an serious and rational manner. Seems to work.

Home time approaches and I realise my shopping is heavier than I can manage via bus and Shanks's pony. Struggle to bus and then depart bus. Head for cash machine then taxi rank.

Arrive home. Fuss and feed Meg and the kittens. Get the kettle on and the stuff out for tea. Slave over hot chopping board and stove to provide raita, curry and warm shop bought parathas using new chapati pan.

Greet and serve up to Flashy when he arrives home from work. Pat stomach in satisfied manner, relay details of the day to each other, show off tiffin box and then retire to computer for 'terweb stuff.

Up at 7.30, shower and breakfast, bus to work.

Filmed signed versions of a terrible film and three sports programmes (football, windsurfing and BMX biking), attended a "recycling workshop", ate some free food, did a very dull quiz, came home.

Soon I will make my sandwiches for tomorrow and watch Heroes and then go and read Steven King in bed.

Woke up at 7am, watched the Breakfast news for half an hour then Pig woke up. I made some tea then cooked breakfast, he went to work at 9. I had a shower, went to the post office to get some money out for my mum, then picked her up and went to the building society, then Sainsbury's.
Got back at about 11.30, by this time Kevin was awake, which was surprising. Towels all over the bathroom floor again, bedroom in a fucking state. Croissant bits all over the place.Cleared that up then had some lunch.
Took my net curtains down and washed them, and cleaned the windows.
Kevin went out with his mates at 2pm.
Finished washing and ironing then cooked dinner for 6.30. More ironing.
I am now eating some very nice Warburtons crumpets with loads of butter.

this will either go bang

or it wont

i'll probably back down, but i do want to talk to him about his time management

I hope you didn't forget to mention Plymouth... and I hope it went ok. ;)

Today:

Got into work early
Moved a load of servers and racking about in an overwarm server room to accomodate a 19U UPS
Moved some of the simpler electrics
Waited for air-con engineers
Ran into issues with permission to drill new holes or otherwise cut into the walls of the sub-basement of building
Spent hours on the phone to various contractors, landlords, bosses and answerphones, without much effect
Met some employment agents and spoke to them about staff requirements
Had lunch with two of my best mates, sitting in the sun watching the world go by
Had a nice long walk around the sub-basement with the landlords' representatives and looked at completely inappropriate sites for a condenser
Marvelled at the unvented heat generated by a lot of other condensers on the other side down there
Spent more time on similar and similarly unproductive phone calls
Answered some emails *not* related to air conditioning!!
Fixed a problem with an Exchange server
Tried to salvage a plan from the smoking ruins of the one we'd had yesterday
Emailed my boss, and passed the buck
Came home
Posted here and continued fiddling with the Exchange server

Fun, fun, fun. But on the plus side, it appears that I won't need to work tomorrow evening now - barring some kind of amazing and incredibly unfortunate divine intervention - and can go to my mate's gig. Yay.

:)

Woke early-ish (8.30), made instant coffee (real is to much hassle first thing), lit cigarette, checked emails and myspace (yes I know, but it's work-related).
Postman knocks at 10.30pm. Go to answer the door but realise I haven't got dressed yet. Remedy that and receive cargo of comics.
Have some toast and marmalade. More coffee. More cigarettes.
Start running out of cigarettes around 11am.
Have shower at 11.30am.
Go to sorting office to pick up shit in PO Box (anyone want a Ringo Starr Greatest Hits CD? It's advertised on telly you know.)
Go to Sainsburys. Realise I've eaten every edible product line in there over the past year. Buy venison burgers and Mars bar chocolate rolls.
Back home at 12.30. Cook breakfast of leftover chilli-flavoured sausages from the night before and eggs n stuff.
Phone people. Email people. Drink several cans of Diet Cola.
Get bored.
Walk back to Sainsburys at 6.30pm to buy shaving foam.
Cook venison burgers.
Watch Sky Sports News.
Now emailing the people I didn't email earlier.

up at 7
shower
get children up and give them and me breakfast. i eat fastest so mrs shoes takes over with the kiddies when i'm done

no meetings today so i don't put a suit on :)

drive to work. it varied between 13 and 16 degrees on the journey so wasn't warm enough to put the hood down

busy busy busy. i'm covering for a colleague who's on maternity and have a stack of stuff to do on her files as well as my own. dictate letters, sign the ones i dictated yesterday, endless phone calls. probably about twenty phone calls before lunch

a witness who i need to see phones up and they can only see me this afternoon. i'll have to leave the office at 2 to get there in time so have to rush to finish the document i'm working on before i go. that takes me a couple of hours to calculate and dictate

then jump in the car and drive to burnham to see the witness. 20 degrees so the hood's down and i put a Tom Novy mix on :)

see the witness for half an hour and then pop in to our head office to dictate their statement

home for sausage and mash :)

Up at about 8.30, have breakfast then shower. Drive to Aldi for a bit of needless grocery shopping. Go to Pilates class, then make lunch. Play on the interweb for a bit then off to see nurse for unpleasant laydee routine check-up thingy. Come home, watch a bit of telly, then go to bed for a nap. Wake up at around 7 and cook tea. Now I'm at work for the first of three night shifts. :( Tired already, despite the nap.

I went to see wolves and birds of prey today, after my morning exercises. We went on the bike so hubby drove
Unfortunately my camera battery died before I had totally finished taking photos Grrr! Only 25 or so.

Got a couple of phonecalls to let me know my gran isn't likely to last the week :(
On the bright side, after my gran goes I never need to encounter various family members again, hurrah!

Tomorrow I think I will mostly be ignoring the world outside of my garden. Hopefulyl I can finish digging up the remains of the front grass :)

I went on a journey by electrified vehicular transport running on tracks. I had two distinctly different, completely seperate, but earily similar buildings to visit for exactly the same reason. Arriving early but not being clear on the location of one, but being fully conversant with the location of the other, I enjoyed a walk humming to myself the lyrics to a passing shop.

Having ascertained that the distance between the two locations was exactly 17 minutes at an easy pace, I set about a preliminary assessment at the primary location. Addressing a seated crowd of 22 for 28 minutes, I then took questions and answers and ticked the relevent boxes. After which I set off for a 17 minute journey passing by a pub I have in the distant past got drunk in before crashing on a supposedly haunted floor.
At the second location 18 people sat about a table and again allowed me to tick the boxes satisfactorily. Yes, they will all strike given the call. Pleasantly I supped a cup of tea whilst fielding the questions.
After which I retreated via electrified vehicular transport back to my office where I purchased a salmon bagel, and typed up the ticked boxes.
After which I attended a cafe for a green tea and a discussion on the finance crisis, followed by an orange juice and then a journey home via electrified vehicular transport.
Eaten fruit and posted on Urban.:)
