Your TV hits of Christmas?

Yesterday I watched The Royale Family which was funny if a bit predictable. I loved the sex scene at the end.

Also saw Gavin & Stacey which i enjoyed and have to admit I really really want to know what occurred between Jason and his uncle Bryn.

At the moment I'm half watching 'The Importance Of Being Earnest'

I was at work till after 9pm yesterday which means I missed Dr Who etc.

A HANDBAG?!?!?!?!??? :D:D

Wallace and Gromit: The most watched xmas show for five years. ITV and their unique brand of festive tack were blown away as per usual

Wallace and Grommit for me -great!

Also Rab C Nesbit - was bored at first and just about to turn it off then it suddenly seemed to change tone and I really, really liked it.

Mind you - I have watched Midsomer Murders yet so...:D

I found Wallace & Gromitt rather lame tbh.:(
I mean it's beautifully made n'all, but something was missing...

yeah, i really didn't feel loaf and death was very dood, curse of the were rabbit was top notch though

hmm, don't like the royle family, never seen gavin and stacy either but i've been told its good

is decoding the nativity worth downloading?

gavin and stacey was ace, was was wallace and grommit. corrie and eastenders were both good. the royle family doesn't really do it for me, although i did watch it.

I watched the end of the Royle Family and loved the joke about the senile cat.
Didn't watch any more telly though.

ps am I the only person who just doesn't get Gavin & Stacey at all? It isn't even engaging as a drama and it has nothing to laugh about so it can't be a comedy - so what the fuck is it?

I think I'm the only person that doesn't reallly get the Royle Family. I mean, I find bits of it funny, but I find it a struggle to sit through an entire hour of it without getting easily distracted.

I know what you mean - I've tried watching it before & never really liked it, but the Christmas one completely cracked me up.

watched gavin and stacey last night, loved it, watched the 12 days of gavin and stacey too afterwards and enjoyed that too

dr who was good

haven't watched any of the soaps

watching the wire season 5 at the mo, that will be my boxing day viewing:cool:

Good to see that most of the best TV over Christmas mentioned here are all British productions.

I enjoyed Corrie, Royle Family and Top Of The Pops.

Oh yes, and this. My first viewing of the film, and it was most excellent. Had me tittering all the way through, often loudly :D

Then caught most of the Cecil B DeMille documentary on some channel or other - that was quite good. Didn't know anything about him at all before.

I really enjoyed that Blackadder documentary. It was fascinating to see the cringe-worthy, original footage to the end of Goes Forth.

That's just reminded me that I have been wanting to buy Cecil B Demille diary for ages.

Gavin and Stacey was a bit shit in my opinion. I used to think Smithy was brilliant, but the whole Gav-lar, robotic dancing bollocks was boring and Stacey has to be the most annoying character ever created. If it hadn't been for Uncle Bryn then I'd have filed it under 'shit'. I did like the bit when Nessa gave everyone a celebration as a present though. I fucking hate Bounties too, so it struck a chord.

Wallace and Gromit? I watched both and found them both a bit dull.

I'm going to watch the Blackadder doc in a minute on Iplayer. I'm hoping this will be decent.

Wallace and Gromit, followed by Dr Who for me (I agree that Dervla Kerwan was a superb villainess).

I had to go and see that boring W&G film with the kids a couple of years ago.

I fell asleep in the middle of it. I do not see how it being shown on tv could improve it.

Shark tale ok - wallace and fucking grommit - I think not.

apologies for not being used to daughter's laptop yet
:D

I've watched Royal Family once or twice and found it ok, but the Christmas episode was so bad we turned it off. (I've found episodes of the chuckle brothers more subtle than that shite)

We were most looking forward to Gavin & Stacy and Doctor Who but I was a bit disappointed by G&S and bored by Doctor Who (though the kids loved it). I was surprised how good Wallace & Gromit were though, best thing so far this year.
