Various Artists - UK Electro

Whilst issued by Morgan Khan's Streetsounds imprint much of the material on here was the work of Greg Wilson, who retired a short time after it's release, before triumphantly re-emerging in recent years to reintroduce the art of the edit.

Zero 1 - Zero 1

Featuring the work of Paul Hardcastle it also features the work of Whiz Kid (RIP) on the turntables and a certain Herbie.......

Both contributed to the foundation of Hip Hop in the UK.

I really like the Beggars' first album, in fact I assumed this thread would be sparked by them as their new album is out today, and the Noisia-produced single 'Contact' is absolutely storming (I've yet to get my hands on the full LP).

2. Roots Manuva - Run Come Save Me + Dub Come Save Me (2001)
Sure this will crop up on a few peoples list - not only great lyrics but for me its the groundbreaking production that really sets this apart. The Dub album version of it proves the point.

Run Come Save Me I can take or leave, but Dub... was awesome. And for once I almost mean awesome literally - I was listening to it a couple of weekends ago and even at don't-piss-the-neighbours-off-too-much volume the bass was rattling my windows.
