Thought it was a bit of a poor year for films. Probably off to see the Disaster Artist today.

Fifty Shades Darker is one of the most subversive films ever made. It's the Taxi Driver of this generation - or better.

All Eyez on Me, so good, I can't wait for the sequel.

The Dark Tower is on par as The Green Mile.

2017 - great year for films.

    D'wards I'm an excellent driver

Three films I watched all made a break for my top 3; The Florida Project, Lady Bird and Three Billboards outside Ebbing Missouri.

All fantastic. All of them telling very female stories. I'm generally not a fan of forced diversity or the Bechdel test - a good film is a good film. Dunkirk is a prime example where Bechdel is totally meaningless.

But these films had no agenda with regards to identity politics- they were just great with excellent performances.
Greta Gerwig especially has a bright future- she has risen out of the mumblecore genre to make great human drama comedies, reminiscent of 70s Woody Allen
