Your Top 10 artist DnB/Jungle albums

talking of which, prices for post 2000 dnb are really low these days.
I picked up Metalheadz MDZ3, 4 track vinyl, near mint, for £3.50 last week

and a lot of these albums are on Spotify

I picked up some altern-8 vinyl the other day, about 40p each.

I just need to get some record decks setup, my vinyl collection aint doing badly now

I remember enjoying Grooverider's Mysteries of Funk at the time, but I haven't listened to it since the 90s.

This morning I let my missus's alarm clock tune play for the 20 minutes. the first track off Goldie's Timeless. A great way to wake up.

giving this a spin tonight after getting it recommended to me....really top draw stuff...if you like drum programming and a journey then this is golden

T.Power - The Self Evident Truth Of An Intuitive Mind (1995)

Surprised no-one's mentioned Omni Trio - Volume 1 - The Deepest Cut.

Recently got the 98 re-issue of this (got the 95 release too) as there's some differences in the versions - mainly I wanted the VIP of Together which is a great tune. Brilliant album, if slightly of its time.

A copy of this has always eluded me:
Congo Natty - Most Wanted
Sim on the Jungle thread reminded me about Blackstar/Congo Natty - Tribute to Haile Selassie I.

Finally got both of these start of last year. Most Wanted is excellent (it's a comp). Tribute to Haile Selassie would be good but the sound quality is terrible (like it's been recorded from vinyl on a particularly 'buzzy' line-in!) - and not the only person who has said this!

Did this get a mention? I always meant to buy it but I never listen to jungle LPs so I've never bothered. Should get the CD for the car though, it's fantastic.

I gave my copy away  i only ever played one tune off it (the seed) and he loved the whole thing...now in australia somewhere

Friday just gone marked 25 years since the release of Timeless.

As someone loving what Goldie was doing from his early output on Reinforced and Synthetic, Timeless was both the pinnacle but in some ways the beginning of the end for me and his music - although I have bought bits over the years that grabbed my attention such as Malice In Wonderland and Beachdrifta.

I think I've opined enough about Goldie & Metalheadz, 4 Hero, over the years really, but will say again that the release of Timeless and the album tour was truly special as someone who lived and breathed rave/hardcore/jungle, and was around the whole scene, watching it being looked down upon by the snooty music press including MixMag at the time, to finally seeing it come of age and attract critical success.

There's some stuff happening to commemorate it too

BUMP

Just wanted to flag up this album - well compilation really - of Harmony's cuts from 93-96 given a good quality (non overdriven and limited) remaster

Jungle producer who released for Moving Shadow in the mid 90s. Used to work on Horace's Camden Tunes record stall at Camden Market and subsequently in the Lucky Spin & Section 5 shops. Also used to play on the pirate station Don FM. Managed fellow Lucky Spin employee Steve Lyall's Deep Jungle label.

His biggest tune back in the day was Boo (classic) - loads on this album Ive never heard before, really high quality, recommend. First two tracks a bit dated 93 madness IMO, but after that its pretty golden for the most part, including some strong remixes. expect amens

A load of my albums are in storage in the unit at work, including the double vinyl version of Timeless, which I dug out today - sticking it on now. I don't think I've listened to it in 20 years...

(I also dug out this Tom & Jerry 12, and this track - which I've always overlooked before - has had 3 spinbacks this evening - what a beaut)

Air Freshner is the track I'd usually go for off this 12. Total banger.

(Timeless is great btw - and all the better for missing Inner City Life off the vinyl release)

Not sure on top 10. Ones I've had on repeat in recent years have been:

Mark System - Final Approach
DRS - I don't normally like MC's but.....
Es Rush & Optical - Wormhole
Jubei - To have & not Have
Dom & Roland - Last refuge of a scoundrel & the one they released last year the name slips me.
D Bridge - Week or no signal
Mikal - Metalwork

The last 3 are way to new to say of all time but they've been played a lot this year. Not sure any of them will be classics (which already is) other than Wormhole but they have seen me right over the last few months.
