Your Top 10 artist DnB/Jungle albums

LOL this thread is as wrong as "your top ten DnB/Jungle seven inch singles"

  1. Timeless
  2. That first T Power one
  3. Naphta - Long Time Burning
  4. Aphrodite
  5. Probably a Congo Natty one but I haven't got any, just twelves the way god intended it.
  6. That's it, unless you count the DJ Scud compilation on Rephlex

Talking of "Timeless", I've managed to survive all these years with the single CD version.

Is it worth me hearing the double CD, or is it the same plus extra mixes and filler?

(I quite enjoyed listening to Photek's "Hidden Camera" recently too)

Manix - Living in the Past
Grooverider - Prototype Years (a label compilation, but I think it counts)
Dillinja - Cybertron
LTJ Bukem ‎– Logical Progression (another label comp)
DJ SS - The Rollers Convention <<<really recommend checking this out, not mentioned yet.
Goldie - Timeless
A Guy Called Gerald - Black Secret Technology
Makoto - Being Human
4Hero - 2 Pages
High Contrast - True Colours ‎

slightly confusing as different CD releases have different tracks (the US single CD has a couple of remixes on it for example)...but if we compare these two UK releases:
single CD: http://www.discogs.com/Goldie-Timeless/release/11681
double CD: http://www.discogs.com/Goldie-Timeless/release/2399
The extra tracks are:
This Is A Bad
A Sense Of Rage (Sensual V.I.P. Mix)
Jah The Seventh Seal
Still Life
....which are all big tracks, no filler, so yeah i reckon you want it! Especially A Sense Of Rage (Sensual V.I.P. Mix) which is amazing....still gives me goosepimles

you can pick up a CD for about £2 on discogs

worth mentioning great label compilations are the Metalheadz series MDZ02, MDZ03, MDZ04, MDZ05, The Winter Of Content, Drum & Bass Headhunterz and Platinum Series

Goldie - Timeless
Guy Called Gerald - 28 Gun Bad Boy (just listening to this again tonight and still sounds great )
4 Hero - Parallel Universe
LTJ Bukem - Producer 5: Rarities
Kemet Crew - Champion Jungle Sound
Roni Size/Reprazent - New Forms
Calibre - Second Sun
Photek - Form & Function
High Contrast - High Society
Sonar Circle - Radius

Finally got around to listening to the 4hero album parallel universe (as mentioned on the manix thread and by steph ) - its a great LP

need to check that....in similar territory Alpha Omega, Journey To The 9th Level ‎ is well worth a listen

Need to check that - I really loved the experimentalism/abstract end of D'n'B (bordering into broken beat at times) that the Reinforced '2nd wave' were doing around then - Sonar, Alpha Omega, G-Force & Seiji, Nucleus and Paradox, etc.

just listening to Rufige Kru - Memoirs Of An Afterlife
its brilliant - didnt know it existed even (apart from a couple of the tracks on it)

Oh i dunno.

I didn't buy Modus Operandi by Photek when it came out in 1997 because I figured it would be a bit coffee table.

Scored a copy the other day on ebay for £2.20 inc p&p. And it IS a bit coffee table in places, but is pretty good.

There's a receipt in it from HMV in 1997 for £16.49!

So this thread (and being a suspicious cheapskate in your twenties) can, er, save you money. Sorta.
