It's not that simple, even in the games that are sold out you hardly ever hear the chelsea crowd. I personally think it's because they play boring football - who'd shell out £50 for that...

Footballers want to play football, fans want to see football not footballers and football ruined by stupid punishments only one team can afford or are stupid enough to impose
If players honoured their contracts there would be no need to rot in the reserves. You play for the club that pays your wages, they call the shots. If you decide you don't want to play for that club any more, you wait until your contract ends and you are free to go wherever you want.
