Your Nominations For Film of The Year

The Girl in the Park 2008 UK release

Kate Bosworth was really spunky in that. It was sad, fairly run of the mil;, but easy on the eye. can you add this to the nominations.

The Dark Knight - awesome experience on the big screen - can't imagine watching it anywhere else. Only film I paid to see twice.

one of the reasons I asked people to do this by PM is because on the thread it becomes hard to distinguish a genuine nomination from just people chatting about movies.

So, Sadken's bleating aside, I'm still only counting nominations received by PM, just like on the Albums of the Year thread.

You a Yankee Doodle Dandy or something?
No. Unfortunately, I only saw the following non-English language films this year at the cinema:

Gomorrah
The Orphanage

I also saw Slumdog Millionaire and Che, which had some non English language dialogue but were at least part UK or US productions.

The only potentially British films I saw this year (other than Slumdog Millionaire) were U2: 3D, The Bank Job, Rocknrolla, Somers Town, Hamlet 2 and Quantum of Solace.

Of the above, Gomorrah could push Iron Man out of my list, but I had more fun watching Iron Man.

i want to nominate Gonzo but i haven't actually had the chance to see it yet. but it started on thursday @ Rio so am hoping that i get along in next couple of days.

HST

Best film of the year so far for me is probably 'Blame it on Fidel'- except it was relesed in 2006.

Errrmm.....

Cloverfield was awesome. Way better than that toss Iron Man or the Dark Knight.

Did Persepolis get released here in 2008?

don't have time to read the whole thread but did In Bruges get nominated at all?

i watched it again with some friends yesterday and decided it's my favourite of this year.

that's it.

Constant sniping on a harmless thread's not a good look, ken.

Can make you seem a bit, y'know, "cunty".

As opposed to refusing to count the votes of people who can't be arsed to pander to your delusion that any of this actually matters? I suppose that makes you look like Shaft, does it?

It's a fine and vulgar tribute to a fine and vulgar lady :)

watched "there will be blood" last night, should have seen it at the flicks, excellent, and probably great on a big screen and that

since you haven't had this exact same argument on the Albums of the Year thread (same system, same reasons) it makes your desire to merely act like a snide twat all too transparent.
