Your gas bill

I am already on it - had a letter about it and it says 'Gas Essentials Tariff' at the top of my online bill :D (and the prices per kwh are far lower than there given standard rathes...although they seem to change month by month )!!!

So anyway...that was a wasted hour yesterday ...but at least now I know I should stay!

My electricity bill is just standard though, not 'Essentials', but perhaps that's just because I have gas heating (I imgine the Essentials tariff is supposed to help with heating in particular)... :hmm:

It is annoying that you can't do a proper comparison against the Essentials tariff though (I mean it may still be well worth me changing my leccy supplier, for instance, even with the loss of the dual fuel discount).

I suppose I could always attempt to work it out myself....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

See, should have just asked me in the first place :p

So the essentials tariff is only for gas? What if you leave BG to get your electricity off someone else, do they take back that £15 cheque? :D

We've just been told our gas bill has been riddiculously under-estimated for the last year and we now have to pay £200!!!!! a month until we've made up the difference. FFS

I was told that I would need to pay £400 because I had not paid enough in my old house. I asked how they came to that number and they didn't have a clue. I said is was ridiculous and they must have had a the wrong reading from when I moved in. They said ok and gave me a new bill for £45.

I have one of those energy usage meters. TV costs £10 a month if it was on all the time. Computer about £7 per month (again if it was on all the time).

interesting...do you also know what a washing machine approx costs in electricity

frankly i have no idea what we pay atm for bills a month as they seem very random figures but will keep an eye on them this winter :hmm:

tbh i am really making an effort this winter with the gas heating..dreading the bill already!

Can't remember the numbers, but since we had the new condensing boiler put in all of our predicted bills have been far too high.

Or maybe the missus just isn't washing.

the last quarterly bill was £45 but that was before we turned the heating back on. god knows what january's is gonna be :(
And that's why my gas is on a meter - has been from day 1, and I am in no rush to change it so that I can start receiving multi-trillion pound winter bills. I probably put around £30-40/month in it at the moment, or possibly less, or maybe a tad more. Dunno, I couldn't really give a shit as long as I can take bubbling pots off the hob and then sit by the fire, eating food and warming my toes.

My leccy, however, is on direct debit as I do not wish to go running round in the middle of the night looking for 24-hour garages.

64 a month, dual fuel - was down at 40someting last year - its a small 3 bed terrace, but solidly built, so seems to hold the heat well
