A poster in General stated he has made his funeral CD. Good idea. What will you put on yours?

I'm having:

Joy Division: Dead Souls.
Richard Thompson: Turning of the Tide.
The Fall: New Face in Hell.
Neil Young: Hey Hey, My My.
The Bonzos: Canyons of Your Mind.

Nah, make 'em suffer with the most bizarre bits of your music collection...I think that opening with the music from Exorcist would be quite amusing since the last time I played it to a load of people at volume one of them spontaneously vomited :D

I did think about having Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd, that would get everyone blubbing. ;)

Another odd choice of mine would be Epitaph by Badly Drawn Boy, which might seem a bit unsuitable at first (lyrics like 'I hope you never die') but I think it's a gorgeous tune and could be interpreted just right.

r.i.p. - alien sex fiend

dead cities - the exploited

marian - sisters of mercy

now i'm feeling zombified - alien sex fiend

toccata & fugue in d minor - j s bach

church of no return - christian death

dead and buried - alien sex fiend

The only thing i really want is burn baby burn for when they push the button for me to be cremated, ideally at this point some glitter and balloons would be released from the ceiling...but i cant see that being alllowed. :(

Other than that it i would ask for some smiths, Johnny Cash and some early soul classics no morbid shite for me ta very muchly :D

marian - sisters of mercy

Top tune!! Especially if you die in water!!

'Marian I think I'm drowning, this sea is killing meeeee'

toccata & fugue in d minor - j s bach

When this is played you'd wanna rig some kind of lifting equipment so you could rise out of your coffin like a vampyre or summat....now that would make a talking point!!!:D:D

Elvis- If I can dream
Candi Staton- You got the love
Dionne Warwick -if we only had love
Public Enemy- Fight the Power
AC/DC- Highway to Hell

There is a place in hell for me and my friends - Morrissey
God's away on business - Tom Waits
Lay me low - Nick Cave

hmm... replace "dead cities" with ac/dc's "highway to hell" & "now i'm feeling zombified" with "fireworks" by siouxsie and the banshees.

I have already decided that I just want everyone to sit through this:

pr22.jpg

In its entirety

Van Morrison - Into the Mystic (there wont be a dry eye in the house)
The Stones - Sympathy for the Devil
Stone Roses - I am The Ressurection
The End - The Doors
AC/DC - Hell aint a bad place to be

ooooooooooooooh what a good idea, An 'Angels Snuffed it Jukebox'

shove all my CDs in and let people pay a fiver a track to listen to tunes at the funeral/wake

All proceeds to the charity that failed in saving me from their chosen cause
:D

*Change of tune*

Replace Confortably numb with Barbers 'Agnus Dei' - it's the Adagio re-worked and sung by a choir accapella. Will make people cry.

Sunny Afternoon - The Kinks

I'm not fussed about the rest as long as sned me into the oven to the line 'help me, help me help me sail away....

Neurosis - Stones From the Sky

Beethoven - Symphony No.9 Presto - Allegro Assai

Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata

Hendrix - Machine Gun (as a slightly upbeat ender)

I once told a woman I was going out with that I wante people to have a good time at my funeral.

She just laughed and said "yeah- they will!"

Bitch!

oooh oooh you've just reminded me of ma favourite song about funerals ever... Death Cab for Cutie - Styrofoam Plates:

"using five dollar words while praising his integrity.
and just cause he's gone it doesn't change the fact:
he was a bastard in life thus a bastard in death. "

that'd do me...
