Your Favourite Premiership Goal,EVER !

Dalian Atkinson v Wimbledon. Picks it up deep in his own half, slaloms thru the opposition for 50 yds then finishes from outside the box with the coolest of finishes over the keeper.

And I was there and had pretty much the same of view of it as on this clip - best goal I've ever seen live.

I did want just your favourite PREMIERSHIP goals but fuck it :D

There would be too many spin-off threads if we stick to that rule.

Maybe someone higher up can alter my thread title :hmm:

Post what you like but link it and give a reason :)

(seen some great goals alreadly, thanks, off to bed to power nap an all nighter.) :o

Fashanu's goal was against Liverpool, 1st March 1980. League division one.

Liverpool won 5-3.

I was there. (Keeping very quiet as I'm an Ipswich fan).

My favourite premiership goal? There have been too many to pick just one, but Bergkamps at St James' Park takes some beating, as does Dalian Atkinson's for Villa V Wimbledon in 1992.

I'll try to think of some more, and get some youtube vids.......

I seem to remember Dean Saunders taking a throw-in, hitting it off a keeper then smacking it in from a distance, which was nice.

Best "handbags" moment?

Little Fat Franny Lee v Norman Hunter at the Baseball Ground, apparently Frannie waited for him in the tunnel and it kicked off again n'all.

Lol Fran.

Great bloody game too.

I guess Cantona beats all.

couple of years before the prem but...

lee dixon vs coventry

lobs the keeper from about 30 yards out

If match of the day was real life. Matty taylor would be an england internatioal and the best player in the world!

dave

The Trevor Sinclair and the Tony Yeboah ones described earlier are the ones that stick in my memory.

But also - I loved watching Tino Asprilla play. Just so unpredictable and brilliant. Eric Cantona - the best player ever to play in English football.

And then other one offs - Beckham from the halfway line, Drogba and Adebeyour scored some crackers, Di Canio... the list goes on. English football is the best in the world easily. Ever. In my opinion :)

Nope.
This is the one i meant.

Quality

Yep this one for me too...although this goal was the first which sprung to mind;

Have to admit though...think Bergkamps goal was as good if not better.

...and this...arrogance Henry could only dream of -

Best I have seen in person......number 2 in this top 11 (!?) count down...scroll towards the end...sorry can't find it by itself;

Dennis Bergkamp for Arsenal away to Newcastle United,2nd March 2003.

Why is it my favourite......
Bergkamp was involved from start to finish.
Outstanding pass from Bergkamp,(watch the ball),to Pires, there was movement off the ball but,
Pires waited for Bergkamp, who was jogging through midfield,
then fed him with a magnificant through ball.
The flick,so delicate,the turn,the strength,and the finish..........

Just watched this again with the speakers turned on...is that Andy Townsend making an thing of absolute sublime beauty sound so dull?...ugg.

ETA it's not Townsend but whoever it is...watch this with your speakers off...commentry can't do something like this justice!
