Your favourite dogs - Battle of the Dogs

My mum currently has eight  of these:

quintetto.jpg

I do have a soft spot for them but my god they can fart. I think when I get a dog (too many small kids here at the moment) it'll more likely be a lurcher as deerhounds are just that bit too big for me. I generally like any houndy type dogs, also quite like staffies, loathe any kind of collie or any small yappy dog.

I quite like pugs too, although this bothers me because poor wee faces are all squished up and I think they have a lot of breathing difficulties :( aww puglywuglies!

Favourite breed : Staffies, English bull terriers, mongrels

Most handsome = Irish setters (shame they're as thick as pigshit)

Which are full of character etc - french bulldogs, border collies, mongrels

Which are the best natured dogs - staffies, labradors, german shepherds

Which should be drowned like rats (ok, I 'm joking here)? - Chihuahuas and Jack Russells - the only dog ever to bite me was a Jack Russell.

Which should not be entitled to be called dogs? Toy breeds of just about anything!

Which is the one breed of dog you'd never want to get in an argument with? Pit bull (doh)

they had a bargain at the pet shop down the road then £600 quid  dodgy as fuck

If I ever get a dog it'd be a rescue but I expect me having a dog is a long way away, in the mean time I just have to stroke other peoples :D

Do not buy puppies from pet shops :(

Good idea about the rescue and there is a pug rescue and welfare charity ;):D

That looks like a Crufts version of a Lakeland...not very cool. Lakelands are very good ratters and rabbit killers and that's the whole thing about Terriers really; you have the inbreds from the show brigade and then you have the genuinely unreconstructed working dogs from farms. I prefer the latter but would never contemplate keeping one in the city.

Cairns come in loads of different colours and they're NOT at all like Westies. In fact they're a right handful and tough little bastards. I had one that castrated an Alsatian. I thought he was going to get mauled and was too far away to do anything about it. Was quite proud of the little bastard standing up to a big bully.

Don't tell that to Di

Di ain't got a scrotum which makes her less vulnerable if she decides to attack a random schizoid Cairn

yes, but she's still bigger than a random schizoid Cairn. I'd keep it quite from Brandy then.

That's a terribly Crufty Lakeland you've posted Minnie. The one I borrowed as a child looked more like this

Wow! A truly great pup. I had a Lakeland as a kid and he was grey with fawn legs and ginger ears. They do have quite an ability to grow beards which is what Crufts emphasise.

Oh and a note on Labradors...my dad had them for decades and finally got fed up with them as of late they're so inbred that their shoulders always gave out. Shame. I blame Andrex. It's what happens when working dogs get mutated into pets.
