this is all why you should check out Gary Daniels.

TBH, since Sly, Arnie and Brucie, there haven't really been any top-line action heroes. They're all too emo these days. It's one of the reasons DH4.0 is a great watch

He first came to my attention as Daniel revok.
Strange movie synchrionicity: In his role as Cohegans lieutenant in Total Recall he not only had the better death (arms chopped at the elbow by a lift) but the arm loss was echoed by him having a prosthetic arm in Starship Troopers. Don't know if that was deliberate nod by Voerhoven but I like to think it is.

hmm, much as I don't rate Firefly I do think a suitably disheveled and dog collared Fillion could do a good Jesse Custer. The difficulty for my mental casting was always Tulip. Needs a kick-arse american blonde.

One of my favourite things about Ironside movies is looking out for Mickey Jones. He was Ham's sidekick Chris Farber in V and has cameos in lots of Ironside movies as he's his best friend IRL. He's in the lift with Arnie when he arrives on Mars in Total Recall.

Van Damme is undeniably awful, but so much so that he's amusing to watch. Amateur dramatics level acting combined with absurdly over the top, muscle bound "beat 'em up" action. Hence the vote for favourite bad actor. Arnie is hardly a RSC veteran either, but he's managed to play a few roles reasonably well - granted they're usually the ones where doesn't actually say much, but could you have taken Van Damme seriously playing Arnie's role in the first Terminator film? ok, the later Terminator films weren't up to much, but as a monosyllabic homicidal cyborg in the first film, Arnie did a moderately respectable job...

Van Damme was great in Time Cop (which was massively full of Grandfather Paradoxes). The bit where a blokes arm gets frozen by nitrogen and then Van Damme shatters it with a kick is ace.

JCVD is reduced to making films with his own name. Arnie is at least awesome in his badassery and laughableness. Was it here I read that they wouldn't let Arnie dub the Terminator into German, cos he's Austrian and would sound like a farmer...?
Michael Wincott got mentioned earlier, in The Crow and Robin Hood. Dude's perfect for "bad roles", but not a bad actor I don't think, hmmm.
Ben Aflleck needs moar mention as a fairly bad actor, although an enjoyable one.
