Your fav off the shelf pasta sauce

I used to love Tescos own brand tinned bolognese sauce. Reminded me of cheap stuff my mum used to get when I was a kid and it made me feel all warm and happy inside. But Tescos stopped doing it a couple of years ago. Bastards.

That's so weird, only the other day I was reminiscing about how I used to live on the veggie version of this stuff. I don't know what was in it but it was strangely delicious.

Joint favourites are Lloyd Grossman's Puttanesca sauce,
I never buy pasta sauces (apart from pesto), but someone gave me a jar of Grossman's Puttanecsa and it was pretty good. Am surprised that any food called Gross-Man is so popular.

Has anyone tried Pesto with Creme fraiche? It's delicious.

Just looking at a possible lunch option, is it wrong to add pasta sauce infused with freshly opened tinned tuna to . . . a jacket potato?

occasionaly buy pesto but otherwise i make my own sauce from storecupboard bits and bobs, favourites being chopped tomatoes( fresh or carton) onion, garlic, and chilli, or carrots, red peppers, onions, garlic and mushroom.

Well, yes, I now feel compelled to point out that I make a far superior pasta sauce to anything you can get in a jar ;) But sometimes I like a lazy meal, just like sometimes I will buy a frozen pizza even though I am capable of making a fucking awesome fresh one.

Yeah exactly, and a jar of sauce is better than either £1 chicken and chips or nothing, which is the alternative for me.
I do pesto pasta fairly often, but I might buy some Grossman sauces to stash away after reading this thread.

That's great! Feel free to start a thread about your sauce.

On offer at Tesco at the moment, but annoyingly, not his puttanesca

Occasionally ther pesto if too lazy/short on basil to make it. Never any of the tomato sauces, no point - they're shit and I can make a good one in the time it takes to boil the pasta.

Yes, but not while you're slumped on the sofa staring vacantly into space with a brimming glassful of wine clutched in one hand.
