Your drink of choice at 15

cider
clan dew (a weird whisky/white wine mix that we used to drink from the bottle in the park) :o
thunderbird
white wine
special brew :eek::o

the fav though was a blue lagoon - quantro, lime and lemonade with blue curacao stuff - looked well cool when smoking a sobrane coloured cigarette - oh how I loved the early 80's

Forgotten about these! this is what we used to drink when we got into the club. In uv light they kinda glowed.

Archers and lemonade when in pub (or anywhere inside that was not a park shelter) and Two Dogs or Hooch or Woody's alcoholic cream soda (actually that was LUSH) when drinking alfresco. And 20/20 when times were hard.

At 15 - Guinness, Bass Ale or Newcastle Brown - if spirits then vodka and orange

- If really skint then Buckfast Tonic Wine.

For me (and this was in Australia):

wine, Jack Daniels, Bundaberg Rum, and XXXX (all in mum and dad's house)

Strongbow, Two Dogs, Cinzano, Vodka, Gin, and Tooheys New when out cos that's what was in my friends house and every teenager drank Strongbow and Two Dogs cider (I only realised it was cider when I came to the UK. I have never heard of anyone ordering a cider in a pub in Oz and we certainly didn't refer to it as cider, it was Strongbow)!

Had given up on cider by 15, and parents had cottoned on to me nicking a bit out of every spririts bottle too.

My Mum used to buy me a 4-pack of lager to take to parties with the idea that I'd be safer on that than what I'd buy myself.

So it was always a 4-pack of lager to warm up, then onto Special Brew or Newcastle Brown.

For a little while I got into the habit of buying a bottle of Bezique and downing that at parties. Bit girlie I spose but very easy to drink a lot of it and probably laid the foundations for my Rum obsession.

I was still a cider drinker at 15, although I'd just started to get a taste for lager too once I started getting served in the pub. Love of real ale only kicked in later. It was something of a rite of passage in the pub I started drinking in: you started off on the Fosters, and then a few months later showed how adult and mature you were by smoking roll-ups and drinking John Smith's. Like smoking, bitter was a bit of an acquired taste, but one I never lost thereafter.

The whole 'alocpop' thing passed me by. I remember the moral panic about it being all over the news when I was a teenager, but virtually no-one I knew would touch them. Lads drinking alcoholic lemonade were inviting slurs on their masculinity - or their sexuality - and accordingly we drank beer or spirits, and most of the lasses preferred lambrini. I never really encountered alcopops much until I got to university.

<e2a> Except Metz, come to think of it. The 'club' we used to go to (it wasn't, but it was the only place in town with a late licence) did it cheap, so occasionally I'd have a bottle or two late in the evening.

Malibu and coke or gin and tonic or cinzano and lemonade :o

I do still sometimes drink the middle one but I don't think I have had malibu or cinzano for well over 20 years
