Did it look like this?

Was the guy well into travelling. I remember one where the guy had travelled all over.

I don't fucking know. Whats with all the questions?!!

But yes the guy was quite into travelling and did a brazillian main dish iirc Not sure what the manioc looked like. ^^ they just look like normal yams? dont they?

Ok I've decided rather than coming back from the pub half-cut and brutally murdering the tossers erm I mean 'guests' at my dinner party with a sharp object, I've decided to serve them live wasps from the wasp nest out front. This would be served with a side dish of nest, and tree leaves.

the funniest thing was fairly recent though. some daft old woman just left the table because people were taking about stuff she didnt want to talk about, then she went into a coughing fit and claimed it was because of the "bad shakra". then she showed the camera the big crystal she keeps down her bra to protect her.

mental. i wouldnt want her at my dinner table.

The funniest that I saw was when the bloke had to go and vomit in the middle!

:eek::D

Bloody Marys.

Vine-ripened tomato and basil cheesecake on a basil and parmesan biscuit base.

Roast lamb with yorkshire puds, roast tatties, honey-roasted carrots and broccoli.

Chocolate ganache in a white chocolate and raspberry sandwich.

Nearly all of it is done in advance and in the oven/fridge before everyone arrives, leaving me to be a sparkling hostess and ply everyone with booze so they're over-generous with the marks later on.

OK

so manioc is smoother and shinier? do they tend to be smaller too?

I don't actually think I have ever eaten yam.

I think you're given a budget of £120 or so.

Rather than compete, and risk winning nothing, buy the cheapest meal possible and keep the change

-Baby pizzas with goats cheese, artichoke hearts and roasted red onions.

-Spicy mutton stew with roasted sweet potatoes and cornbread.

-SpookyFrank's patented Baileys cheescake with chocolate biscuit base and homegrown raspberries.

White wine for the starter, local ale for the main and brandy for the pudding.

Listen everyone, cassava (mannioc) is only poisonous if not cooked. And it's very difficult to eat if raw, difficult in the sense that you wouldn't choose to munch of what looks like a more woody, larger version of a potato.

That said, as one of the few root tuber things growing around the Amazon, it's commonly used to make cassava bread. It's a hugely intensive process, taking two days, endless changing of water and lots of hard work to avoid the toxin being a problem. It's amazing that someone discovered how to make flat disks of the stuff, let alone go to all that trouble.

well....your hosting a dinner party what is on the 3 course menu...got to do this with a few mates and am struggling...

starter I think is going to be a lobster souffle, main...really don't know and desert strawberries baked in pims ( easy I know )
Recipe?

Cassava bread's fucking ace. Big discs of crispiness, best smothered in artery-stopping amounts of butter. Makes a mean crisp/chip too, thin shards of niceness.

I'm admittedly not keen on it boiled. But I'm not a great fan of boiled spuds or most root veg either.
