Your career ambitions for the next year

I don't want to be told what to do anymore. What are my promotional prospects? Will I get to cover for Skim while she's on maternity leave?

What grease are you using?

I hear salad cream is rather good for poles.
Most poles actually prefer mayonnaise

I'm going to resign at this rate – the prospects are lousy. All is do is writhe around on a buttered pole all day while LilJen watches disapprovingly. I don't rate that for a career.

I think we were all overwhelmed with your ambition and didn't know what else to do but derail the thread with inane thoughts of salad cream and pies. Life's like that :(

I want to continue in my job as i love it but i want to also get a spare time job as a music writing freelancer - something i've done before - and also get my first big spread feature in the nationals i got my idea which has never been done before and i dont want it going in a trade newspaper - my target is The Sunday Times and if not too lazy over the next year i will do it.

also gotta do exams with the job - they are optional but i wanna get the qualifications - sorry i cant tell u what they're in but its a specialist area of technical stuff. i got my hard work cut out for the next year

what career ambitions have ya got for the next year that you think are pretty achievable?

1. Continuing to be in charge regularly.
2. To complete the course of study which begins in April.
3. To work towards promotion to a charge nurse post.
4. More teaching.
5. To create an important specialist protocol/policy.

Difficult to say how achievable (3) is, but I'm being pushed towards it by my superiors, and that is always a VERY good sign in my field. :)

1. To get some new clients and do some fuckin work for a change coz we are skint, we haven't earned anything for two months. The war chest is looking a bit errr.... empty :o .

2. To rewrite our website - it's horribly out of date. We have a great Google ranking and an ancient site, needs to be sorted. I get the impression if this was sorted, we'd get more work, coz potential clients can't find what they need.

3. To ruthlessly consider ads on the links page - we get a lot of visits from wannabee designers and students, I could be cashin' in :p .

4. To start my own label - it's gonna be accessories i.e. bags, I haven't registered the name yet, but it's going to be a mixture of recycled and new materials.

5. Possibly do an accessories course at nightschool at Cordwainers in Hackney - we had a rubbish accessories lecturer when I was at Poly, I think I need to brush up.

Get a job as an agency nurse .Start ou course .Transfer out of infantry ta to
medical ta .Running around with a machine gun is a young persons thing .And if I have to go on another holiday courtesy of tony rather do something useful.

get a proper, continuous contract job somewhere nice (possibly including my current school).

This should involve a payrise greater than the one incremental spine point i'd automatically be entitled to anyway.
