yep, but he had a minor music career in the late 60s. Brixton Blues is a classic.
Nice one - I'll have to check his stuff out. I bet it changes hands for a few coins these days though...

Wasn't it "she lives in Camberwell, I live in Brixton"?

it was the other way around. but it might have been someone else on vocals, or maybe it's just artistic licence. you don't get people claiming that basement jaxx are "computa" just because they have a song called "we are computa".

so :p to acid priest.

Yerrrrr...but putting this into perspective, I would think it statistically more common that one might live in Camberwell than be 'computa' - therefore rendering the latter declaration considerably more likely to be hypothetical!

So :p x10 to Milesy!

i'll pull that tongue out of your head if you stick it out at me again

maybe one of them lives in camberwell, the other in brixton. maybe they both lived in camberwell. maybe they have friends who live in camberwell. maybe....who cares :D

at the end of the day basement jaxx have strong connections with brixton, so it's only fair to include them.

so let's stop this petty squabbling and feel the love :)

Yes, lets - Basement Jaxx are word. :)

Or maybe they just live somewhere halfway up Coldharbour Lane and can't actually work out whether they live in Camberwell or Brixton...?

:p :p :p x10000 to Milesy

up the junction?

oh no, that's clapham ;)

There's loads of shitey old punk - Tulse Hill Girl (was that 999?), stuff like that. Railton Road Blues by the Sonic Subjunkies, from the old Dead By Dawn days.,.

less concerned with being pure bred brixton musical trainspotting.. more capturing a contemporary brixton sound..

so maybe i should include a prod favourite - kids in america?? ;)

or maybe that offline mainstay - common people ??

actualy, can't believe i neglected 70s/80s by Nightmares On Wax featuring Roots Manuva, a fantastic series of reminiscences about growing up in Brixton. full of lovely little period detail and flavour..

"The Brixton riots and the new sports centre
They didn't quite achieve the shit that it was meant ta'

That's not on the album version... presumably since NoW is from Leeds - but a great song anyway.. will have to download this version.
