Your beards

Sometimes I'd like to grow and maintain a beard. Then I realise I'm a skinhead and I'd look like a terrorist, so I just have perma-stubble.

I think my bearded days are nearly over now. We'll see.

Annoyingly I could probably achieve that. The hair on my neck grows as fast as that on my face, and since I started keeping the stubble really short I have an annoying gap in my moustache on one side.

i havent had a wet/clean shave for 3 or 4 years. usually i get my hair clippers and give myself a 2 or 3 all over then use a beard trimmer to do the scruffy bits on the cheek

I usually grow a beard around this time of year, usually in a state of depression. Lately it's become more grey/white around the sideburns though and makes me look old.

I like it while it's short but I only need to get a cold to convince myself the beard has to go because it holds germs or something.

I'm convinced its a British Waterways bylaw that all boatmen should have beards.

A few weeks ago it hit me how stupid it is to keep shaving everyday and how easy it is to just use electric clippers. So that's what I do now. That and growing my hair out to Brady Bunch length.

I'd love to be able to grow a beard. Having recently got quite into drinking real ale, it would be the next logical step.

I tend not to bother shaving between Friday and Monday most weeks and although I get a decent amount of growth on my top lip, chin, and my parts of my jaw, none of it joins up. It's really annoying as I've got a good head of hair, and where it does grow on my face it looks like iron filings, but there are too many gaps. It's obviously just not meant to be.

Never understood goatees etc. For me, one of the best thing about having a beard is not shaving.

Anything other than a full beard is the mark of a fop and a dandy, imo.

I generally let my face hair grow for about 2 weeks then it gets itchy and i look a bit too much like a 29 year old alcoholic so i shave it off

for some reason tho, razors just seem less and less effective, like they keep adding blades and things to them but they get less and less good at fighting my beard, I think it's evolving faster than razor technology

3 day growth beards are supposed to be shiek. Look at shows like LOST. They manage to have the same length no matter what. I think it's supposed to appeal to women like Aragorn in lotr. A goatee can be good if it's done right but not with a bald head. That's been worn out.
