Are they gone now then?
Still going, as far as I know!
I saw them in... <googles> ...2003. Bottom of the bill to Burning Brides and Swearing At Motorists. -I had a top night; it involved Mexican wrestling masks.

Are they gone now then?

Off the thread please. It's the law.
Heh
No. There's drone, there's noise, and then there's Lou Reed completely stoned turning the amps to 10, placing the guitars directly in front of the amp cones and then messing around with the tempo and pitch of the recording. It's harsh, uncomfortable, and I know that because listened to it from start to end some four times![]()

Amps don't have cones, speakers do.![]()

Intro to, "I heard her call my name", by the Velvet Underground.![]()

Darkthrone - Transilvanian Hunger
very silly norwegian black metal bozos ditch the studio and record a horribly low-fi album on a 4-track. despite all odds it turns out pretty fucking good. it's got some of the best written songs in the (admittedly limited) genre, and the guitars sound like a cross between a chainsaw and a cheesgrater
yours?
i'm enjoying this album quite a lot

If you have your PG stuff there play Teen Pussy Power from about 1.39
Asbestos Lead Asbestos. Every second of it.![]()

the bit at the end of Dick Johnson by Pussy Galore where the song just kinda collapses in on itself.

'orthodox caveman' by sunn o))) ...they are usually more sludgy than abrasive but that one just about tips over the edge.

Yay! King Of The Slums, they were aces - I really wanted to put 'em on me recent Peel sessions mix but I couldn't track one down in digital form
they used the violin to make most of the abrasive noise though, not the guitar
