Took it at face value - a lot of old politicians will get steam rollered, if nothing else when a lot of big labour faces get booted out at the GE.

But the same agenda will obviosuly continue, whatever the face. Im sure the capitalists are glad to see any phoney xenophobe agenda distract people from the truth of what could turn out to be the biggest scam in history.
 
one thing i'm surprised noone has mentioned about this statement is that UK still has one of the lowest unemployment rates in Europe, ours is about 5% and most places are 6 - 8% i think

Unemployment is rapidly rising in the UK. I would review that comment in a few months time.

Not to mention the shifting-people-onto-disability-to-fiddle-the-numbers trick that's soon to be removed from the equation by James Purnell and his 'sneak up behind people in wheelchairs and yell BOO! and we'll see if they're faking or not' policies. I reckon we'll be at 10% unemployment by the end of 2009, if not more than that.

Many workers got on their bikes long before Tebbitt uttered those words and then the tory cunts changed the rules to make it even more difficult to move anywhere to find work.

I could easily get work abroad. But moving abroad would be a different matter. I'd either have to leave my daughter here, or make her settle in a foreign country where she doesn't speak the language; my GF would find it very difficult to get work abroad, so we'd have to break up or have a long-distance relationship where we never see each other; I'd lose my housing association flat, and have to sell all my furniture and everything we own except the few things we could carry to the other country with us.

Yes, the 'get on your bike and look for work' really only works for young single people with no family responsibilities.

I don't understand why there was never an outcry over Mandy's third resurrection. He is like the Lord Voldemort. Everytime, you think he's dead, he gets up and walks again.

The whole 'on your bike' thing is basically only used when politicians are completely buggered.

They know there are no jobs going for everyone who wants them, and going 'yeah well there are jobs over there' is a complete cop out.

How long before jobcentres make job seekers extend the range of their job search to Poland?

how is it racism to want all workers to be paid at the same level, so companies didn't exploit foriegn workers by paying them less, thereby both giving them shit pay, and undercutting local labour?
