Yet another Wire thread/poll - your favourite series?

I'm nearly at the end of season 4 now and so far it's my favourite one, followed by s1.... but the whole thing has been really outstanding, I've rushed through it a bit this last 2 weeks or so and it's such a densely-packed show I feel like I could watch it all over again and come out with a different favourite series!

Liked the second series best.

Difficult to say why, maybe because the dockers were feeling the pinch trying to do an honest bit of trade, and had more to lose than the street kids, for whom taking a cap in the ass is "all in the game".

I also liked the Greek.

I actually thought the second series was a bit wooden (relative to the rest of the Wire, not the rest of television), especially the old blue collar, union man stereotypes.
