Xmen Comics

OK, anyone here ever read the X-Force comics? If so, can they confirm the following information from Wikipedia following Cable's departure from the group:

In 1997, under writer John Francis Moore, X-Force broke away from Cable and the X-Men. Moore portrayed X-Force as carefree wankers exploring the open road.

Is that really what happened to X-Force after Cable left them? The complete lack of discipline resulted in the group travelling around the place, masturbating when ever they felt like it? Is that really the kind of story lines we want children to be reading?!

Anyway, I thought this thread could do with a bump. I've finished Essential X-Men Vol 1 and would definately reccommend it to anyone wanting to know how the current group of X-Men were formed. I'm about 2/3 of the way through Vol 2 and just finished the Dark Phoenix Saga which is one of the most famous story lines (I think it also contains Days of Future Past which I remember from the cartoons)

I've also got myself Cable and the New Mutants which is when Cable first appears on the scene. It has terrible (well, 1) reviews on Amazon (apparently the writer isn't all that) and the art aint so good, but like I said above, Cable was my favourite character so I wanna see where he's come from!

they atopped being really good after the Dark Phoenix saga, about 150. There were afew good early New Mutants - mainly for the brilliant Sienkewicz art, the stories were always kinda naff
