alwasy always always pay for stuff like this on a CC - you can pay it off before it starts to rack up any interest

a fuckup in Russia recently had me out of pocket by several hundred quid, but a few calls to the CC and it was sorted out

Yes....cheap airlines are a flase economy and the days of uber-cheap package holidays abroad are coming to an end.

Visa Debit also run a chargeback scheme but a lot bank staff are still unaware of it, I have a group flight only booking on XL that I will have to get the bank to chargebank.
