X Men 3

I thought it was better than 2, but then I'd already resigned myself to the fact that it was bugger all like the comic stories I grew up on,and just set out with optimism at full throttle to enjoy the film and it was ok.Vinnie wasn't as bad as I thought he would be.Kelsey Grammer was a surprise but he was reasonbly good some interesting effects, all in all I don' feel that I wasted money to see it it was for me the best of the 3, but that, I think is because by now I don't expect other than a passing referance to the storylines from the comics, because at the end of the day,no matter how good the film, or director,it will never be what was in your head when you you read the stories

I wondered how they were going to handle the Phoenix thing, as given the style of the films, I didn’t think they’d go for the ‘cosmic entity’ angle. The idea of the Prof having established some sort of blocks in Jean Grey’s mind comes from an aspect of her origin story in the comics, IIRC, so it has some link to the comics.

Pretty brave killing a lot of people off like that.

Thought it was enjoyable, but there was less to turn your brain on for than the other two, and as people said rather more hammy, so it wasn’t quite as satisfying.

i blame you for us missing the end of credits!!!:p

Edited to add: and i liked the film, i thought some of the dialogue wa a bit dodgy but generally enjoyed it. It was easy and entertaining-with some cool fighting:)

I saw the end credits *Coughgeeksplutter*

Not as good as the first two, but enjoyable nonetheless...Brett Ratner all over really.

I must say that I was hugely impressed with the atomisation effects when Jean Grey/Phoenix turns on the power - it reminded me of the 'power columns' bit in mange/anime where the hero/bad guy unleashes their cosmic power...I'd like to see that used in a more effective way...

I just saw this, and I realy enjoyed it. Stewart and McKellen were on form, as was Kelsey Grammer. Even Halle Berry was okay, considering how ghastly she can be in some films.

I expect i'm the only one geeky enough to see the irony in all the Professor X/Jean Grey stuff- wasn't Famke Janssen Picard's 'Perfect Mate' in an episode of The Next Generation?
