Would you put a frozen lobster in the oven?

heh

I'm being fucking naughty again and have cracked open a bottle of rioja. My best laid plans have gone to pot again. I was doing sooo well.
Oooh, I've succumbed and opened some charders (don't ask me what it is - all I know is it's 13.5% ;) Poor mr madz, this dinner's a fuck up. I've only just remembered to make the jelly :o

:D:D fucking hell, if it weren't for you madz, I'd feel like a complete freak :p:D

You eat frozen lobster?

Sorry but if it ain't straight off the boat and still wriggling, there is no way you should even be thinking about it. Freshness is critical for fish and seafood. Can't remember the mechanism offhand but isn't lobster one of those critters whose meat becomes toxic very rapidly after death?

Kill it first by all means but leave that till you are about to cook it.

Also remember that due to its typical diet and habitat contamination/pollution, lobster is a fucker for Norovirus - which can remain active at fridge/defrost tempratures and can make fully edible food a serious risk in as little as 3-4 hours and it will affect somewhere round 80% of people who eat it. Leaving to defrost for 8 hrs is just foolhardy IMO.

Enjoy your dinner though. :p :D

Nah, I'm not eating it, I'm probably allergic. Mr madz is the only one eating it and he has a cast iron constitution. He drank sheep wormer once.

Its frozen cooked lobster, which is a totally different kettle of decapod to one which had been randomly frozen whilst it was still alive.
