I paid a ridiculous amount - about 70 quid a ticket - to see Simon & Garfunkel in Hyde Park last year. Took my mum, and it was worth every penny - they were fantastic and my mum had a great time. It's the most I've ever spent on live music apart from a Glastonbury ticket, but I'm really glad I did.

I saw the Stones at Wembley Stadium in 97 or 98. It was fun, but I wouldn't shell out the best part of a hundred quid (at least) to do it again.

Luckily it only cost me about 25 quid - paid for by working plenty of overtime back in 1989.

I would go and see the Stones because I think they were good in their day. However they have never come to see me and I was good in my day.

Respect to the Stones though and they are still out there. Mick Jagger works harder than any musician I know about. He is as tough as a marine and with loads of energy. I would have given it all up to collect the royalties by now.

For me, they're the finest rock'n'roll band to ever draw breath but you couldn't drag me to see them. They're old, they're embarrassing, they should have knocked it on the head years ago. Sorry...

Rubbish. They can play it all they want.

I'm just not interested in listening to them. They're an irrelevance musically to me, nowadays.

Wot just cos I don't like the Strolling Bones? I did go and see the reformed Sex Pistols a couple of years ago, surely that's almost as naff?

I thought your first comment was funny but have to say I enjoyed the filthy lucre gig(Glasgow). SLF were on first, it was ACE :D

I wouldn't pay more than £30 to go see anyone, unless it was a festie.

I adore the Stones and their music [up until Goats Head Soup at least but only sporadically since] but the prices this time are just too much for a band i've seen four times already, including a never to be bettered first time indoors. Awesome band but not this time I'm afraid.

Would I fuck - why bother?
All their songs are way too familiar (never understood why people still listen to music that overfamiliar when there's so much other stuff out there) and you wouldn't hear much worth hearing at a big concert anyway.
I might go to sweaty secret gig in a 200 capacity venue, but stadium gigs are pretty empty pointless affairs.

This is my main problem with it.. stadium gigs. :( But I knew I could count on you.. ;)

I saw them when I was about 10, me mum took me cos she didn't have baby sitter and I'd only try and burn / stab or worse my brother if he looked after me :)

I saw them on the mexican leg of the tour a coupla months ago. Not bad. good show, shit venue.

Didn`t pay for tickets though.

Just you sound grumpy when you post

Been called many things, "grumpy" ain't one of them. Actually "Exile on Main St" is good. But the Stones are still the second most over-rated band in history. The Who are the first.
