Nooooooooo, it's cos she's my mate irl.
And I saw her last night but don't really feel that I'm at the stage where I want to start talking about thinking about doing another masters.
I'm very grateful to the replies on this thread actually - starting a thread here means that I really *am* torn.
I agree with a lot of what people say on this thread, but the main trouble is that I agree with both the for & against arguments.

Are you already mad so it doesn't actually make a difference? Yes
Seriously though, do it if you really want to - you clearly have the learning bug and if you don't do *something* you'll resent your job, kill your colleagues and hate life (or something). Just have a good think about what is available and what you would enjoy best, consider your choices etc
I got more than that when I did my last Masters & it still didn't feel like enough to live on.
But anyway... PhDs are miserable. Utterly miserable. I think I'd be better off doing a more vocational type masters.
You don't *study* as such when you do a PhD anyway... just rsrch the same miserable thing for three miserable years!
The *study* side of a masters is what appeals to me the most - lessons & that.

It's kind of a tough one, I was talking about this to BA last night & most of what I ended up saying was that a lot of the time I absolutely love my job, & often leave work feeling really happy.
But I guess I'm not overly enthused by the *specific* industry that I'm in, iyswim. The individual projects are cool, but I think I'd like to end up doing something, that as a whole, really motivates me.
I'm still really undecided.
Another thing that came up last night was the fact that I'd probably have to work + study. Not much fun.
Thanks btw W. xx
(*Waits for hollis to come over & say & pull your socks up*. )
