Hackney has pitch black skies, yet it is still only spitting. Thought the deluge would be upon us by now.

The giant thing that is causing disappointment by not bringing stuff to much of London at all is just a bonus anyway. I don't even think it featured much in met office/bbc forecasts.

The real action is pencilled in for later tonight, overnight, and then again tomorrow afternoon.

Mine don't have latches on them so if there is any wind it slams them shut. I've still got a window to fix after last winter's storms.

I'm leaving the top windows open an inch or two (tensioned, they're not going to flap open or shut in a gust). I'd rather risk water damage than do without slightly fresher air. More thunder.

A nice little intense electrical storm has just built up out of the Milton Keynes area in the last 30 minutes and set off north towards Northampton.
