Wot, no local elections results thread?

Bristol has its first ever Green councillor - Charlie Bolton - with a majority of 7.
Full result
Charles Nicholas Bolton Green Party 1439 40.60
Matthew Symonds The Labour Party Candidate 1432 40.41
Jonathan Heyes The Conservative Party Candidate 377 10.64
Matthew John Greenwood Liberal Democrat 296 8.35

Overall Lib Dems trail in third place with 25% of the vote, Labour second with 29% and Tories are the winners at the moment with 33%. Lib Dems have failed miserably to get overall control. And it looks like Bristol is going Tory. HELP!!!!

Nah mate, we're going Green, look at those percentages I posted up there. Give it a couple of years...

Summat like that...

Seriously though, so far the Greens have won 13% of the vote across Bristol with some really good results in the south especially. And they're on the council now as well...

Tories gain great yarmouth!

John "o fuck not health" Reid is on telly trying his usual bullish BS and it ain't working! :D

NOC Rochdale, Kingston-upon-Hull, no change

NOC West Lindsey - Tory loss :D

bbc are saying that labout look like they are going to lose camden, after 30 years in control, that would be a big loss

Both Hoon & Blunkett claim their connection with the studio has gone when asked 'awkward' questions. Blunkett even responded to Dimbleby asking if he could hear him by saying' " No. I've lost all sound this end !"

Bristol results with one ward yet to declare:

Seats:
LIBDEM 33
LABOUR 23
CONSERVATIVE 12
GREEN 1
VACANT 1

Number of votes won/share of vote:

CONSERVATIVE 21132 30.37
LIBDEM 19398 27.88
LABOUR 18961 27.25
GREEN 9196 13.22
The Respect Party 679 0.98
The English Democrats 221 0.32

Bishopston just declared and the Greens came second to the Lib Dems with 24% of the vote - this was a Labour ward until four years ago and they came third! :D

Lib Dems not done as well as they'd hoped here, looks like the Greens have taken plenty of votes off both them and Labour

Horfield not in yet, that's a Tory/Labour marginal - recounts maybe

Remember though, those seats include the two thirds of them not being fought this year.

Good point though.

Harlow- NOC

BNP gain Loughton Fairmead in Epping Forest and will most likely gain up to 3 more
