Worst veggie product available?

It didn't used to make me gag until I read ON HERE that it was made from the same fungus as athlete's foot.:mad::D
It's not the same fungus as athlete's foot, but it is the same genus of fungus as some pretty nasty Cold War-era biological weapons researched at Porton Down.

Any of the Grassingtons stuff is pretty horrible, burgers, sausages etc. No idea why it's so widely available.

Macsweens are really nice, they're the ones I eat.

Are they made of nuts? It was the oiliness of the nuts that was horrible - it was really greasy, like two day old chips or something like that. I dunno, maybe I had a duff one or something, but it turned my stomach - it tasted 'wrong' - Of the surprising amount of varieties below, it looked most like the Macsweens one, though I couldn't say if it definately was.

I do like real haggis too too.

I'm not vegetarian but I quite like those veggie mush burgers. They're like bubble and squeek burgers.

last night i had veggie cauldron sausages, mashed sweet potato and butternut squash, broccoli, and carrots and veggie gravy:)
Generally tho i steer clear of any ready made veggie stuff, much prefer the satisfaction of cooking my own from scratch.

There are a few approaches to "meat-like" vegetarian foods I can easily cosy up to-- Chinese Buddhist vegetarian cuisine is outstanding, for example.

But if you're looking for the foulest of the foul, you have to look no further than the unpalatable Worthington 'Loma Linda' line of products. Their approximations of burger and hot dog-like things will make your forgotten tin of mock duck seem like prime rib in comparison. It's a Seventh Day Adventist plot, I tells ya!

Oi, what are sprouts doing in this thread? They're not processed muck they're a vegetable! And a nice one too if cooked properly.

I had a veggie haggis once which was really nice, don't remember what sort though.

Love Sosmix, I met someone at the Big Chill who's uncle invented it. I thought it had gone out of production but found some the other week. Especially good for making sausage rolls.

Veggie Haggis is foul.
Heathen! Veggie haggis is a delight! I'll admit it's not quite as tasty as the meaty version, but it's pretty darned lush and good for ya too. :p

indeed....can anyone explain to me why vegans, et al, are always trying to make their veggies look like meat? i mean, whats the point?

do they miss chicken, pork and beef so much that they must make their 100% meat-free products emulate them?

and if i told anyone that i was a meatatarian and only ate meat would people look at me weird?

these are some questions i want answers to.

all vegans? yes DC. how many do you know? and how many buy those horrible, fake products and eat them regularly. I'm sure there are some, but most vegans I know, myself included stay well clear, not least because loads of them are fucking foul and I'd rather stab myself in the eye with a rusty spoon than eat them.

oh, and that applies equally to quorn - fake, mushroom-pretending "food". Bah.

:D

(ooh, I'd forgotten how much I liked a good food-related urban rant ;))
