I find it quite amazing that none of the sports invented by the yanks are popular around the world. I suppose they are in a way but you don't get world/continental tournaments for any of them, the world series doesn't count by the way.

Basketball would be the exception. Not only is (IMO) a gripping sport to watch, but it's actually very popular in many areas.

It's massive in the Continent as well. In fact it's quite a mystery that it's so widely ignored in Britain, what with their more common links to the US than others. You go to places like Italy, Greece, Spain or the Balkans and it's second only to football.
