rubbish, listen to Don't Stop Me Now and tell me that's not rock n roll. Regardless of whether you like him or not, he can sing, and so can all those Houston, Carey and all those types. This thread is about people who can't sing, not those whose voices you don't like. Perhaps I should have made myself clearer.

Umm - the thread title is 'worst singers in music'. not 'technically weakest'.

To me a good singer is someone who can powerfully deliver the emotion or sense of the song via that most emotive of instruments - the human voice. That does not mean they have to be technically good singers or have a full rich voice. By that rekoning Shane Mc Gowan or morrisey or Nick Cave are far greater singers than Whitney Houston - or Freddie Mercury. What you get with mercury is showmanship - not soul.

Being out of tune is pretty unforgiveable though - Ian Brown and Bob Dylan can often be barely listenable for that reason - but there still better than the look-at-me-and-my-operatic-range warblers.
