Worst Singer?

In a 'bands you're ashamed to admit you like' and this thread something-really-bad potential stream-crossing - I recently bought a Duff Mckagan cd off eBay and had to cover my ears it was so shit.

He just about pulls it out of the bag on the Bambi cover but good grief - when did you last have to cover your ears on a record that was released in all expectation of doing OK*? :(

I've always hated Elvis Costello, but on accidentally hearing "Out of Angels", I suddenly realised, fuck me, the boy can sing.

Victoria Beckham - I'm amused at the way way her solo efforts seem to involve her being shoved rather far down the mix in the hope you won't notice.

Then there's Milli Vanilli - few things are more painful than the clip those guys claiming they sang it, honest, then grunting out 'Gul yoo no iz troo!' in heavy Dutch accents. :D

The boy can definately sing. I do remember though back in late 80s that all my housemates complained while I was going through my massive EC phase that all they heard me playing was some droney old bollox. :)

the techno producer luke slater did an electroclash album a few years ago where he sings on the majority of the tracks. he probably shouldn't have done, tbh... shame, cause the songs are great, and would've sounded much finer with an actual singer on them (or some more vocoder on the vox...)

On the evidence of his Brits performance, it's Mika. Sorry, mate, you might be "whacky", but you were way out of tune.

Yes, Shatner is the man.

"Has Been" is a really great album, most of it was co-written by Ben Folds. I especially like Shatner's cranky old git duet with Henry Rollins.

I know she's hugely admired, but I find Joanna Newsom's mannered singing style so irritating for me it's like listening to fingernails on a blackboard.
Know what you mean - Bonnie Prince Billy too

Grieves me to say this; Lee Dorrian, ex-Napalm Death. Don't get me wrong, I love early Cathedral but you can't really call him a singer.
