Worst player your club has ever had?

you forget that Arsenal won a title losing one game all season with David Hillier as a regular and that Perry Groves scored a lot of very important goals during the 2 titles 89 and 91.

John Matthews and Gus Caesar were far worse players - the latter costing a cup final single handedly. Ian Ure and Geoff Barnett were pretty awful for Arsenal too.
no i don't. you just want an argument and/or demonstrate what a "fan" you are.

if you're trying to pretend pel didn't attract significant opprobrium during his time as a gooner, then you were at a different highbury to me. ceasar was pretty gash yes.

ian ure?! so now you're claiming to be about 68 years old as well are you? (laughable)

some toffee already bagged him earlier on in the thread.

whereas we spent about 9million on the useless fucker :D

But he was good at Everton first time round. That's why the Arse bought him! What turns good young players into shit?
By no means our shittest ever player...but another example of a player not fulfilling his potential (and another ex Everton forward) Danny Cademarteri. We thought an ex prem player would rip up League1 when we were in it. He couldn't hit a barn door. My shittest Bradford player of recent years would be Richard Liburd. (Not including loans) He was our regular right back for 2 or 3 seasons and he was shite. We paid good money for him too. Closely followed by 2 other rightbacks...Darren Holloway and Gareth Edds.

Arggh this'll take ages :D

first name from the last few years that comes to mind is Albert Luque. His job seemed to be to start warming up after 70 minutes and maybe come on for 10 and do nothing

xisco is running him close. but the gonzalez from uruguay...

haha only just witnessed the later posts.

NUFC = massive win

Silvio Maric, Carl Serrant, Laurent Charvet, Paul Dalglish, Fumaca, Andy Griffin, Daniel Cordone, Shola Ameobi, Stephen Carr, Carl Cort, Brian Kerr, Stephen Caldwell, Stephen Glass, Alain Goma, Diego Gavilan, "Helder", Jamie McClen, John Karelse, etc.

niki papvasilous (it was along those lines)

Boogers; Quashie; Breen.

There were worse players signed by WHU, but those worse players all gave it some. Those three.... well, Marco simply was bonkers, Nigel was a combination of crocked, shit, and overpriced; and Gary Breen simply wasn't professional standard.

Another great Everton player: Bakayoko...

Bakayoko was shit, but he wasnt as bad as Angell for two reasons. Firstly, he scored an absolute belter against Bristol City in an otherwise shit game in the FA Cup 3rd Round. Secondly, he was (as was mentioned in the grauniad a couple of weeks ago) the absolute bollocks in Champ Manager. Angell had none of these claims to fame.

As for Nyarko, yes he was rubbish but Angell was worse.

Manuel Thetis at Ipswich, awful full back.

Adrian Paz as well, hyped as being a brilliant goalscorer and only netted once in 29 starts. Missed an open goal against Man City at Maine Road if I remember, three yards out and hit the back of the stand!

Irving Gernon was crap too......

Have to think about this one:

An aggressively incompetent 4-3-3, mismanaged by Macari.

McKnightmare
Christian Dailly ('played' RB quite a few times) - Gary Breen - Gary Strodder - Vladimir Labant (was he left-back? I can't actually think of any obviously shite ones)
Shaun Newton - Nigel Quashie - Joey Beauchamp (he could actually be world-beating for all I know)

And a strike force to scare the shit out of anyone:
Marco Boogers - Mike Small - Steptoe Jones

Subs:
Iain Dowie, Eamonn Dolan, Hayden Foxe, David Kelly, Omoyinmi for being so fucking dim, Bywater.

Raducioiu was, in fairness, only shite for us. Dumitrescu and Rebrov as well.

Christ, lot of strikers there.

I could have made three or four teams, and that's just in my living memory.

andy griffin or scott minto for lb!

What about Glen Keeley? :(

no, just older than you and seen many more games and many more players. Groves did get stick but he also put in a lot of good games. I was a seasson ticket holder at 7 years old and remember the stick sammels got and certainly remember the boos that Matthews got.

he was still fucking shite for us though, couldnt give a toss about his championship medal

No he wasn't. He kept Michael Thomas and David Rocastle out of the side that season, albeit they had injuries for part of the time. He was as effective as Kevin Richardson was in 1989.

yes he was one of the worst players we ever had, and if you never saw him play for us (as i suspect you havent) then you're hardly qualified to comment

well since I saw about 75% of all the matches that season home and away I think I did.

you were probably still in short trousers

Arsenal have had far worse players as I have mentioned

John Matthews
Gus Caesar
Ian Ure
Geoff Barnett
Jim Furnell

to name just 5

you need to go back a few more years to look at this whole thing properly,

jeez you're thick. he was one of the worst players to play for MY club. i saw lots of matches that he played for us and he was invariably shit, overpaid and couldnt give a toss about the club. i couldn't give a fig what he was like when he played for arsenal, but he was one of the worst players i have seen

how many times did you see him play for my club then?

Sorry Strung_out, what you're saying there is not that clear at all.

Strung Out supports Bristol Rovers. Gunneradt supports Arsenal. The former feels that david Hillier was one of Rovers' worst players. The latter does not that Hillier was one of Arsenal's worst players.

N'est ce pas?

In the UK I follow Grimsby Town, jusdging by this years results the whole team are shit and should be given away free to anyone needing a doorstop.

Hillier was one of the worst players i've seen play for Bristol Rovers, I think gunneradt disagrees on the basis that he was quite good in arsenals championship season. that's as may be, but it still doesnt alter the fact that he was atrocious when he played for us. does that make it a bit clearer?

correct, i was just confused as to why gunneradt was arguing with me about why i thought Hillier was one of our worst players, given that i doubt he ever saw hillier play for us
