Worst party/club/rave you've ever been too?

Worst house party i've been to was about 3years ago. We walked through the door and it was very dark and smelt funny. The ceiling in the living room was near collapse, so the only place everyone could sit was on the stairs. No music, no convosation, nothing. I was whizzed up and the place was full of stoners :(

Reviving!

Worst/funniest I've been to, there was a gas leak and the best memory of it was the chav on a bike which came hurtling down some stairs I was standing by - sent me flying, which wasn't good considering the floor didn't look too sturdy. This old man helped me up and kept following me around telling me he used to be a rapper before his teeth fell out.

in addition to my older post from a while ago!

i remember DJ'ing at a party in a warehouse in Crawley when this bunch of wronguns turned up intent on causing trouble - smashing the building up, throwing tennis balls at the DJ's, trying to rob people etc.

we got all the crew together and got them out.

a little while later they crashed a car they'd nicked in to the side of the building. then tried to set in on fire. wankers.

generally though, raves are fun.

Oh god I remember when I first started seeing the boy in 2004. We were going to a squat party that got busted and we didn't have any more numbers.

As we neither of us were living in London (due to circumstances) it wasn't an option to just go home (aw bless, young love).

We wandered around trying to find somewhere we could afford to get in to and that might have some party peripherals on offer.

Ended up at a hard house ( yes I know  ) night at The Fridge!

Oh my god!!
Every one was dressed like they were in a fetish club but were incredibly unattractive!
The music was AWFUL!!
Nothing on offer to ease the pain.

We ended up walking around Kings X trying to work out if I could go so far over my overdraft as to pay for a hotel.

We slept in his office :D

Classy int we? :p

Fucking hoodlums with tennis balls, what will they think of next, eh?

The worst recently was Lost in one of the places under London Bridge Station. Nineteen quid to get in & four quid for a can of stella. Plus I was tripping my bollocks off & got hauled into this little coffin of a room about 3am & properly searched. Not clothes off searched but pretty thoroughly searched.

But I love this post-

So fuck you all those people who moan about what has happened over the last few years at squat parties & say it's a recent thing.

to be fair, that is a massive commercial rave tho, there was a massive part of the free/underground party scene that was tight and tidy as fuck for years,

I've heard worse. Dark tales of ping-pong balls being flung about and even worse, shuttlecocks!!! I tell you, it's coming to something when a man can't rave cos of the fear of a 16-feathered-cork projectile in the eye. And don't even get me started on frisbees ffs.......

I remember hoying down to Brixton once with a crew of people, for a rave at Soapy Joe's warehouse on the Hill, we arrived after what seemed like an endless journey in pouring rain to find a quiet leaky cold space with no noise cos the PA was bust. Lots of disconsolate crusties sitting around, virtual darkness, crap drugs, and when things did kick off at about 3 in the morning, it was with a muted murmur rather than a rumble or a roar. We all ended up sitting together in a heap, pressed up close to try and stay warm until the tubes started again. Very grim......

Not sure I understand you.

Sounds very similar to something that me & Dan U were at a month(?) or so ago! :D

i meant the raindance do in '92 with people getting screwed etc.. you were saying about "people who moan about what has happened over the last few years at squat parties & say it's a recent thing." my point was that raindance was a big commercial rave where there were really rich pickings, but the underground/free/squat/ party scene back then was, like people have endlessly said pretty safe and very cool in the sense of people looking out for each other and not letting cunts try and take over or screw people.. ie pre loadsa k and crack

dunno how it is these days tho' .. what do you think.. is there much happening in london these days free partywise?

Worst party I ever went to, was one where someone wanted to kill me, followed by the party that I spent outside on the sidewalk, vomiting scotch.

Two. Sqaut party in Battersea which had minimal techno, one room and a strobe in an old building which someone managed to fall out of from the 3rd floor, and I ended up putting my hand in dogshit while cunted.

The other - NYE 1992/3. Were supposed to go to Fantazia at Woodcote Manor but a mate fucked up the tickets so we ended up getting some for Destiny/The Cream on Clacton Pier. Picked the tix up NYE from Choci'sChoons, car parked in the Dean St NCP breaks down. Breakdown truck takes 2 hours to arrive, then breaks down. Another truck takes a further 2 hours to arrive. Had to drive to Clacton via Colchester in a German mate's left hand drive golf, with 1.5 headlights. Stopped in Colchester to pick littles&whiz up, only whiz available, FINALLY arrive in Clacton at 1pm...had an OK night in the end, but it wasn't worth the pain of getting there...

Can't remember the worst... I'd have taken as many chemicals as I could lay my hands on if it were that bad, to obliterate the memory.

Plenty of dangerous parties in Stratford in condemned buildings, I recall.

I suppose some of those later Fridge trance nights were pretty shitty, Samsara and Source, promised the world but delivered fuck all apart from wanker bouncers and shit DJs.

Naaa. I think the worst ever would have to be the Blue Orchid in Croydon, circa 1989, or Cinderellas in Kingston from the same era.

It oozed shit from beginning to end, and that was just the foyez.

No wonder decent folk started buying the gear and doing their own parties, thank fuck.

I still pity those who never knew any better than that type of nightclub/meatmarket scene... but let's face it, it's what most people's parents had to cope with, all that dance hall propriety.

Worst I went to was a NY eve near avon in northampton. I'm sure the party was fine, but no matter how many drugs we took we couldn't shake of the feeling that we were about to die of hypothermia.

one particular party springs to mind back in the day of warehouse parties.

we went to one in the middle the night, secret location in the middle of nowhere etc. etc. the usual. the convoy stopped as we saw some lights in the distance - so carloads of people spent what seemed like hours wading through a field full of damp rape plants off our tits...finally arriving at the rave.

and the generator had broken down.

cue wading through the rape field back to the convoy....

not the best night i ever had.

Ok, fair enough. Back when I posted what I said a year ago or whenever it was, I'd just had enough of people moaning on messageboards about how just about every party back in the day was great & all parties these days are shit with people getting mugged n that.

So I said a 'fuck you' to them. Which I think was/is fair enough. A lot of difference between a Raindance in 1992 & one these days, as is there between a squat back then & one now. Still 'a massive part of the free/underground party scene that is tight and tidy as fuck' these days though, to paraphrase you. IMO.
