Worst of the lot for me was a band called "More". They were first act onstage at the Monsters of Rock gig in about 1982. Anybody who shouted "We want More" the rest of the day got beaten up!

Sabbath invented Heavy Metal, Priest put the Steel to it and sharpened the edges.
re Saxon - cheesy lyrics, fer sure. Might be an idea to go and see them and hear what a great live band they still are.
Metal? Camp as a row of tents and at times decidedly silly, but it's the most evocative, powerful and moving genre of contemporary music known to personkind.
