Worst Films of 2008

I fucking loathe the term 'rape' when used to describe anything other than actual rape itself. It's just so inappropriate and wrong.

I didn't see that many but Cloverfield was pants. I'm with OU on Batman, but I wouldn't say it was the worst.
I played Fallout 3 while Ms S watched Sex in the City and she just said 'I'm not taking anyone with a quiff in 2008 seriously', but she's only saying that 'cause she enjoyed it but she knows Mark is right. :)

Also; I just finished watching a random movie called "Liam Neeson's Daughter is Kidnapped and as a Result he Becomes Unexpectedly Bad-Ass (arse?) and Completely Kills Everyone in the Face and Then Gets His Daughter Back"

It was pretty good, all things considered.

Good film that is. Not in the sense that you appreciate the director's artistic vision or spent hours dissecting the underlying message or owt like that, but it is fun. Kind of like Commando updated for the 21st century.

And yes, the trailer is quality also.

It's Neesons calmness ennit. You just think 'oh shit he is going to fuck these baddies up'

Yeah, but you also like jokes where zombie Dr Shipman fucks a hog-tied Maddie in her cleaver-split anus...or something.

Are we going to have yet another thread like the last one over what one may find appropriate/inappropriate funny/not funny?

You well know that using the term "rape" in this particular instance is a deliberately irreverent, faux-hysterical, wrong-usage of a serious word to add emphasis to an opinion on something which is pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things...

But seriously - if I offended you OU, I am sorry.

:(

isnt it called ' Taken ' ?

I apprehensivley watched it ( as i have a totally uncalled for hatred of Liam Neeson ) , and really really enjoyed it

I wasn't offended - I just think it's such a weird metaphor

I'm going to have to break ranks with normal service and disagree with Swarf here. I quite enjoyed the new Indy. Sure, it was nothing earth-shattering, but it was a reasonably fun film.
