There has always been loads of horrible British guitar bands swimming in a leaden broth of mediocrity. Anyone remember Hell Is For Heroes? - urgh! Embrace?- yuk!

The Darkness - that joke got old very quickly.
No Way Sis - the Oasis tribute act that actually released a single ffs
The Twang - oh dear lord, the twang.

i think, to be included in the 'worst band ever' list, the band in question must have acchieved massive sustained success - it doesn't matter that scooch, hepburn and the like are crap, 'cause you never have to listen to them.

take that can't be included because of 'never forget'...

by the same rule, while shit like scouting for girls is intensely annoying right now, in a few years (thank god) they'll be forgotten, so they can't really be included either.

Ah, but you could apply this criteria to so much modern music, could you not?

And I'll see your list and raise you, the grandaddy of them all, the artist who has released what is officially the worst album in the world, ever and still sells copies today, having not been deleted since releasing his first album in 1968...
