worst album you ever bought?

Toxicology - System of a Down. And some think this is their best album?! I'd fuckin hate to hear the shit ones! Awful, but at least it only cost me about 25p off ebay (I'd been drinking).

cringe...

around the (ancient) time (of '97, was it?) when french house was all the rage,
i bought a terrible, terrible album by some french disco-house twats which must remain nameless, lest their shit spread around the globe like a scatological glam-glitter virus.

....let's just say it was REALLY bad.

it was the only time in my life where i've simultaneously wished for record destruction AND some milkshake-carrying pacha to arrive and chop my ears off.
argh.
yeah, it was that bad. honest.

...i'm still traumatised.
not even second-hand record stores wanted to touch it...
and i provided bargepoles and all...:(
evil, evil music.
snif

It was DJ dodgepot wasn't it?
well i nearly flunked in french, didn't i?
(because i spent highschool days hanging around in dodgy record shops instead of going to lectures) :(
...so how could i know?

...not that you could dechipher the cover credits anyway, because of the "design".

a frenchman once told me i was "kind of sexy"...
i told him to shove it up his **** :)

bloody frenchies

I bet he loved having it shoved up his **** - French people like that sort of thing, you know.

You are so naughty, maya! :)

clearly there's something in "rude swearing" you don't get-
although i do love a good arse when i see one, but that's beside the point
innit :(

mr. "twisting-my-words-around".

Wombleing merry christmas  Dreadful. But "super womble" was quite a good track.

but super womble is also available on 'wombling greats' along with a track called tobermory's dream machine or something that is triptastic

Aoxamoxoma (or something like that) by the Grateful Dead or Space Ritual by Hawkwind. Both abysmally bad.

i didn't think i'd be able to answer this.. too many :( (Hugo Largo's Drum is a strong fucking contender though)..

but a PM from foo reminded me: ANYTHING by Aba Shanti is a piece of shit. they have an awesome sound system and play awesome tunes but their own records are absolutely dreadful. the album with Jericho in the title is just awful

after hearing people raving about the flamin' Flaming Lips, i bought that yoshi-summatorother album.

i played it twice.

what a load of insipid wank.

and i can't even give it away, no one wants it! :D

cloth-eared yokel bint :p

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son by Iron Maiden is fucking awful, as is Somewhere In Time by the same band.

Which is odd, 'cos I actually really like the songs off of both when performed live. It's just that they went off in a worrying synth heavy direction in the 1986-88 period

I had two cradle of filth albums once... *retch*

Which? The first two (Principle of... and Vempire... were great. Then they went all 'Queen' vs 'Meatloaf' schlock rubbish.

However I don't think you're going to agree with me anyway.

I had principle of evil made flesh and dusk and her embrace, plus a few mp3s off cruelty and the beast and midian I think... I'd agree that they took a downturn after the first two and turned progressively more laughable with each album, but I still find their early stuff pretty ridiculous (I mean the keyboards on Principle... gawd blimey are they tacky! ).

And Dani Filth is a right cunt in real life I've heard...

lauren hill unplugged. Left the Fugees, went solo and had a great debut album. Bought unplugged and played oce of the two CDs. Was she going through hard times or some kinda of truama? Did she smoke like a chimney at the time?

'sexocet' by ron e was another 1 - appalling 'dance-rock', bought because it had an (at the time, in my head  ) amusing name. fortunately bought second hand for a quid, but still! i was a quid out of pocket

I purchased and played a lot an album by

AND WHY NOT !

Played it the other day and cringed myself into a corner, and it took about3 hrs to uncurl after it had stopped, just incase the pain started again !

Pink Floyd "Trance Style" it tuned out to be "Wish You Were Here" with added stylophone bleeps - this is the first and last "illegal bootleg" I ever buy and marks the point point where I became wary of Internet recommendations :(
