know what you mean, eqII follows the same principles and could be very dull except for the dynamics of grouping which is the bit that i find most interesting. plus i spend a lot of time chatting to other players. it's like a big chat room with a game attached, for me. i mix the fighting with the different types of quests (they don't all involve combat) and crafting/trading, that seems to stop me getting bored. i thought i would have given up by now but have made too many friends there.Sunray said:Well, its diablo 3 without the single player. Very odd. Very dull atm. Will persevere, but unless it improves from me just waiting for fights to end so I can pick up stuff and move on, I'll give it a miss and give it away.
Play boils down to
1.find thing to do
2.Kill loads of things which drop items
3.Go back to person who gave you something to do.
4.Get xp and level up
There is a 10 day trial code in the box, if anyone wants it PM me.

The Euro version is meant to be released on the 11th Feb I hear, but according to my friend that is fixed to the euro servers.
Hearing a hell of lot of positive feedback from current players that have come from other MMORPG's, they are saying they are giving up the current ones to play WoW as its infinitely better.

The penalty for dieing isn't so obvious until you do it 20 times in an area that's MILES away from the graveyard. trust me, you'll not be so cavalieer. I think you might even swear. want to go at double speed, its gonna cost you 1000 gold for the epic mount and xp as you can ask that ghost in the grave yard to resurrect you.j6ango1977 said:Yeh Ive just cancelled my Eve - online sup. after 6 months to play WOW. Also because Eve turned out to be very unbalanced in favour of 1 race which defeated the object of the game. Just started playing WOW last night. Just got to LvL 5 and it looks pretty god so far. I sat laughing for 10 minutes when I made my character dance .LOL The game does look rather good and lots to do.
However It doesnt seem to penalise you for dieing. When you die it reserects you as a ghost and you can go back to your stiff corpse and and get all your stuff back. In Eve it costs you money to insure your ship and yourself and when you die it costs money to replace the ship and also your character loses an amount of skill points. So if WOW doesn't penalise you for dieing you are totally going to throw caution to the window and just attack everything willy nilly without any strategic thought. That kinda ruins the game for me. As I've only started playing the game I could well be wrong about this, hopefully I am. If anybody could enlighten me about death in WOW that would be great![]()
. yeh i think these type of games when you first start to play can come across as a bit limited however the more you play and get to know the world the more there is to do. Im interested in trading and specialising in certain skills. It looks like WOW offers this so its looking good. Took me about a month to learn most of the Eve universe and how it worked and after 6 months there was still things I didn't know.Private Storm said:If I'm not a level 72 nobknocker by Monday morning, I'll eat my hat.

however, sony are nerfing eqII so much that i'm considering leaving for guidwars. (once i've hit lvl 50. only 5 lvls to go)
It takes me about a week now to lvl up when it used to be done in a night. The only answer I get off lvl 60 arseholes is 'go and play on a PvE server then'. I like PvP...... when it's fair.chio said:Nerfing?
