Workplace full of women

Only problem we have here is the blokes arrange to go for pints and the birds get wind of it, want to come out with us, and so hey presto, they want to change the beer venue - "we don't like old mans pubs" they say

That's why we don't invite yer

One time someone did come out with us and complained that we talked about football for an hour and a half

Jeez

It's all good though

:D

Do you know, I gathered that? However, I am so utterly fucking sick to my tonsils reading stuff like this on here, that I no longer think its one bit funny. If that makes me a hairy legged Millie-tant type femo-nazi, I no longer give a flying fuck!

It's depressing. Half the reason I signed up and stuck around is because this board doesn't (didn't?) allow 'casual' sexism.

Remember the mods won't necessarily pick up on sexism unless you report it though - they can't be everywhere :)

To be fair, the last office I worked in was almost entirely women - around 30, I think - and it was frequently very annoying indeed. However, this had nothing to do with their hormones and everything to do with their shit taste in tv and music.

I wouldn't have thought anything in this thread was reportable though. It makes me feel  :( but not really worth calling mods on.

My ex worked in a HR section of nothing but women. Man the continually shifting catty office politics she used to moan about all the time.
How so and so had her little gang of favourite who could do no wrong and got away with massive cock ups but bullied so and so over the littlest mistakes etc.

That office was seriously competitive and grade conscious.

The entire office could turn into a minefield over the slightest perceived insult such as “I like your dress today”. “Oh so you don’t like how I dress normally!”. (genuine anecdote)

She used to tell me that small female teams are great but once you get past a certain number of women gathered together she’d rather work with men.

In my experience large male only teams can be a problem but of a different sort. Everyone is too busy fucking around to get any work done.

Mixed teams are best.

Some of you should think yourselves lucky.

I have never worked in an enviroment where there are any females around and probably never will do.

I often wish that wasn't the case.:(

I agree with you but will say that at some times of the month our office can get a little tense to say the least...

I work in a mostly female enviroment but luckily they are sniping and grumpy most of the time so I'm used to it . I do however have to do all the heavy lifting and I don't get paid extra for it either

 Have I missed some kind of rip in the fabric of space and time? If I go outside will I find everyone wearing hats? Will I need my ration book?

Cos some of the attitudes on this thread, particularly from the OP, are from the fifties it seems

Yes well, but to be fair to the OP, as a women I can relate to what they have written in the sense that I too can 'feel' the vibe in the office change when one or more of us are menstrating. In fact we openly discuss the fact that one or more of us are being more sensitve, negative, have a short fuse etc.

It actually helps me feel better about how crap i'm feeling and I also like to be made aware of my inconsistent/abnormal behaviour as I am not always immediately aware that I am bubbling over, until it has happened IYSWIM.

Christmas decorations for me. I don't give shit about making the office look like some kid's bedroom yet I'm the one the women force up the bloody ladder. Thank fuck its only once a year.

Is there some annoying thing that I can insist women are better at and can make them once a year in revenge? As I can't think of any favours they have ever done in return.

Am I missing the point? why can't I appreciate and respect women yet prefer to spend my work and or not work life with men. I just find them easier. Sorry

It is interesting that you notice this...everywhere I've worked has been predominantly female, yet I've never noticed the collective hormone rush that must happen. Then again, I'm not especially sensitive in this regard and often don't even notice my own PMT, plus I've never worked anywhere where I got on with/gave a shit about my colleagues, so generally tend to interact with them as little as possible. I guess if you have good relationships with people at work, you might notice these things more.

That has nothing to do with them being women and everything to do with them being HR people, who are all dangerous and mad.
