wood green is not edgy!!! and it's certainly not like a mini new york that is laughable

shush - if everyone says it is, maybe the yuppies will up sticks and move there :D

Oi, nowt wrong with being a yuppie!

I've lived in Tottenham all my life, 20 mins walk from Turnpike Lane/Wood Green area. Admittedly, nightlife is a bit shite, what DJ bar are you talking about, Hollis?

Wood Green suits me pretty well. Cheap cinema, wetherspoons, some decent kebab shops, and great transport links. If we fancy a cheap night, we can pop over to wetherspoons. If me and my mates are feeling a bit flush, we can pop on the tube down to covent garden/camden/soho/old st, and find a bar or club.

I don't have to worry about no tubes late at night, when night buses are always running. N243/N29 suits me fine. I miss those hour long late night journeys back home from central london...

That's the thing... the place does have a 'scene' which is why the pubs are packed every weekend, and why loads travel to go out here. Maybe not a scene or 'vibe' some would care for.. but its there nonetheless.

dj pub's - The Gate - opposite Ally Pally train station.

All my old school mates go out in Wood Green every Friday or Saturday. I've been with them to a number of different places and the only thing stopping me from jumping on a 29 and legging it anywhere other than there was the company.

It does have a really good sports shop if you're looking for cricket gear, and it's got a Spurs shop to piss up against if you get caught short trying to run away, and bugger-all else. It all looks very flashy though, which I guess is the truly important thing.

Wood Green looks flashy????. Where exactly are you from? Must have been brought up on one of those garbage heaps in South America for Wood Green to look flashy in comparison.

And The Gate pub is rather nice, two of my mates had their wedding reception there a while back, but I wouldn't really call that Wood Green, it's not even N22.

i'd say wood green is better than clapton, but that is rather faint praise...

i prefer walthamstow personally

and stokie over walthamstow

No way! At least Clapton has the Lord Cecil.

And Walthamstow is an appalling place...

Still, Stokie isn't oo bad...
