For some reason I've never been too bothered about Cyprus or the Greek islands (probably because they're a favoured destination of 18/30 types!). Suppose Crete would have a lot of archeology which I find pretty interesting. Not sure what there is in Cyprus apart from Ayanapa and squadies! Can you get a ferry to Beirut from there? Or anywhere else in the Mediteranian/Mid East?
