Big game for the Lionesses today
Australia V Italy and Brazil V Jamaica...potential for 3 cracking games today
They were, but the ref blew for far too many challenges, seemingly because they were robust rather than with an eye to the 'did she get the ball' aspect of the rules.
European teams dominating.
Come on the Lionesses
Quite a lot of empty seats there which is disappointing. Game has started at a good pace though
100 mph start. We look threatening but we want to watch for getting caught short at the back.
Ooooh. Though I don't really understand these new hand/arm ball rules tbh
Never a pen.
Fucking have it
If you disregard the rules of the game then it is not a penalty
Good to be ahead obvs.
Referee/VAR says penalty, so penalty it is
Enjoying the game.
The rules are wank
Anyway, we're ahead, and we should go on to get some more.
I know but rules is rules
Our right flank is looking unbelievable.
Parris is a great player
And Bronze is the best in her position, possibly in any position
England looking good for a few more here
Let's not get hubristic eh
Far more enthralling than most of the games I've seen during the season. Well hooked. 2 up is quite generous to the Scots.
This half has flown by. Great performance so far.
Why are the linesmen meant to delay putting the flag up? Surely it would be better to put the flag up the minute there is an offside?
Let the game flow and if offside VAR can pull it back
In case they've got it wrong. If a goal is scored, they can always use VAR to make sure whether it was/wasn't offside.
Also, referee's assistant
It's an interesting counter to "VAR will disrupt the flow of the game". In this case, it's literally doing the opposite!
Phil Neville has got a waistcoat on, augurs well
Surprised at how poor Scotland have been so far I can see why they were 9/1
